TPM Malfuction does not reset can anyone help

2007 BMW 525i I have tried to reset my tire pressure monitor using the instrutional guide and even brought it to a tire dealer to check the sensors and tire pressure. They checked all the tire sensors and all were working properly, and they filled the tires with the right amount of air and I am still having the same issue wih the TPM can anyone help. Thanks

This is how I did mine and it worked for me.

    1. Inflate all tires to correct pressure specification as indicated on the vehicle tire.
    2. Press MENU button on the iDrive.
    3. Press the controller to open the iDrive menu.
    4. Select “Vehicle Info” and press the controller.
    5. Select “Vehicle Status” and press the controller.
    6. Turn controller to select “Reset TPM” and press the controller.
    7. Start the engine.
    8. Select “Reset” and press.
    9. Select “Yes.”
    10. Begin driving the vehicle. On the display for the iDrive will say “Status:Resetting TPM”. When the drive cycle is complete the screen will say “Status:TPM Active” indicating when reset is complete.

Did you have new tires or wheels installed on your car or did the tpm start showing a malfunction out of the blue?

It's very likey they didn't even put the sensors in the wheels. Or they might have broken one. Or your trunk might have leaked and soaked the TPM module seeing how it's under the spare tire. Could be anything. Take it to someone who can diagnose it properly.

I had the same problem. Then my stereo and bluetooth stopped working. Thanks to this forum, I looked under my spare tire and all of the electronics in there were floating in water! I replaced the TPM module ($285.00 from BMW) and cleaned and dried all the connections on the other modules and everything started working again. The TPM will be a small grey plastic module under the spare tire. Good luck!

Take a pic and post. Most likely if the copper wire is green that is not a good omen, unless the insulation is green.

I cleaned the pins in the module and let them dry, if that dosent work then im going to order a new TPM module and hopefully that will solve the problem. Hey crowncoke nsoda my oil service light doesnt reset do u think it could also be because of the module going bad since u also had an issue with yours and your bluetooth and radio

We have the same problem on our 08 535xit. All the sensors work. Have not found and checked the module yet, but probably should. We have CPO, but that may or may not cover it.

The cpo warranty covers more of the mechanical issues and drivetrain. The electronics would be a no go. The good thing is the module is easy to get too and replace your self.

TPM malfuction repaired quick and easy. I needed a TPM control unit , I installed it in about 2 minutes and it cost $130.00 online. Muchcheaper than going to a BMW dealer

I'll post my experience here for future researchers. Our 08 E61 535xi recently suffered an unresettable TPMS. The light was flashing, which apparently means a system failure of some sort. I had a tire shop check the sensors and all were outputting the right signal. Also checked the spare tire well, since some people reported water damage to modules there, and it was dry.

Gave up and took it to the dealer. We have CPO warranty, which covered the repair. Dealer said it was the antenna in the fender well for one of the sensors.

Does the dealer have to program a new TPMS Control Unit?

I pulled mine out and saw it was wet, I dried it but still getting the malfunction. I want to order a replacement but will I still have to pay the dealer to program it? Wondering what your experience was 07Bimmerman?

    Thanks!

I did and I'm having the same problem, what should I try? The malfunction comes on five minutes after the resetting. The sensor is active then becomes inactive.

What car do you have, year and model. Also are the wheels you are currently using stock ones or aftermarket ones.

Hey, I had a similar problem where I got a TPM Malfunction with my 07 530xi. I ran a diagnostic in GT1 and it said that the RDC Antenna needed to be replaced. (This is the part that looks like a USB flash drive, not the square one). The dealer confirmed that my car only has 1 antenna (but has 4 transmitters - the box - in each of the wheel wells...).

Do you know where I can find the RDC Antenna on my car so I can replace it? I haven't been able to locate it on my car.

I have replaced all 4 TPMS wheel sensors but I am unable to reset the TPMS system in idrive. It is greyed out and inaccessible. Does any one know how to get pass this issue without taking it to the BMW dealer?
