Here is the final finish on the manifolds. I'm not a fan of shiny things under the hood so I decided to sand blast them then go over them by hand with a scotch-brite pad.
One last full mock up to check some clearances.
Next on my list was to make a little more room for the 4" intake. I cut the "frame rail" and notched it, then welded in a new section.
Also made some brackets for the aluminum radiator the utilizes the stock radiator mounts. More on that later.
Nice work! Man I want your car soooo bad!
Looks great. Now I have to leave this thread before I spend some more money
Looks very good. Getting closer and closer to finishing! Can't wait to hear it start.

The radiator mounts are very early in thier development, but hopefully by the weekend they will be finished. First mock up of the tacked together parts fit great and have the radiator mounted in the perfect position!
I'm gonna laugh when some dude and his g/f in a vette or something thinks he's gonna rape a v8 BMW.. And gets an ass whoopin.. Nice work!

Added a -4 turbo feed fitting to the oil cooler adapter
Here is the notch I had to put in the oil pan. The welds aren't great due to the aluminum being cast and oil saturated...but it's sealed fo sho.
Here is the pan on, turbo feed and drain in place
Lastly I started wiring the motor up. I plan to fire the engine very soon!

Although there has been a lack of updates, I have been working on the car often. I now have the clutch pedal in the car and functional with the Tilton master cylinder and also have the throttle pedal working with the universal throttle cable. Solved some minor issues like the plug wires wanting to rest on the manifolds by making little wire "hangers" that hold them up. I have started on wire integration which is a chore as compared to the e36. I have the fuels system for stage 1 pretty much done. Using the stock feed and return lines up to a new stock fuel filter, from there it goes to an Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I stuck the Walbro 255 out of my e36 in the tank for testing, but it will be replaced by an Aeromotive 340 soon.
There hasnt been much worth taking pictures of unfortunately, other than my modified GM oil cooler adapter:
looks like a factory piece, I'm real happy with how it turned out. I am using the factory e39 transmission cooler as an oil cooler. I cut off the factory connectors and welded on a couple -8 male ends to it just like the adapter. Here it is in place:
Thats also a sneak peak at my Summit radiator mounted in the stock location.
Lastly, I picked up a set of wheels for the car finally:
M Par reps, 18x9.5. They look huge in the chair, but not on the car lol.
The intercooler brackets should be welded up today I hope(if I get time), so there should be another update pretty soon!
The wheels look amazing!
What throttle cable are you using?
Did you go with 9.5s all the way around?
I struggle with a choice for wheels on my 540i/6, and I always come back to Mpars as the standard.... They are classic and sweet.
BTW, unbelievable fab work on everything!!!

Perfect fit, no cutting needed.
Yes, 9.5's all the way around.

That's gonna be so sick with 9.5s all the way around. You don't often see that with M-pars. Can't wait to see pics!
Spent all day wire tracing. The motor is now 80% wired to the car, the main things I have left to do is install a fuel pump relay, connect A/C wires and pull the gauge cluster out to add pins for the tach and temp. Also successfully recoded the cluster as seen here.
I used jumper wires to run the fuel pump and was able to start the motor using the BMW ignition.
Also, some people have asked me about my Tilton clutch m/c setup. I'm not going to pull it back out, but here is a pic installed. I made a bracket that uses the stock m/c mounting location.
looks good. seems like the recoding software is easy to come across nowadays.
