Transmission shift detent bushing drift set

Hey guys!

I've got some local interest in making another batch of E36 tranny shift detent bushing drifts (for the "shift pin repair" associated with the ZF 5 speed gearboxes) -Figured I'd offer this up to the whole BMW community if anyone else wanted any.

These are the drifts that are outlined in the repair process HERE if anyone's curious...

I'm offering up a set for $40, plus $5.35 for shipping (small flat-rate USPS box). That is, $45.35/set of 5 punches, shipped to anywhere in the 50 states. If you're local to northern Cincinnati, OH, I'm also game for local pickup

Anyone else want a set? I'm going to be ordering material in the near future (followed by machining) and need to know how much to get!

Not too bad. I had to use the nut-drivers that others had suggested when doing the fix, had been quoted $100 local for a custom set..ridiculous

Just wanted to get this out there so nobody is alarmed - By the time material gets ordered and all these get machined, we'll be looking to ship somewhere in the second half of September-

UPDATE: If you would like a set, don't hesitate to get your name on the list... based off of the interest I'm going to go ahead and order materials/make provisions for more sets than currently needed and will sell till they're all gone!

Is the "shift pin repair" the same repair as for the 5th gear detent issue? Will this effectively fix that problem? Getting into 5th has been an issue since I purchased my car and it seems to be worse when it's cold out. There is a ton of resistance when the shifter is pushed to the right(much more than reverse) and it never feels securely locked into 5th. I have even had it pop out of 5th on a few occasions. It also does seem to lean very slightly towards the 5th gear gate. Would this effectively fix my problem and would I need any other parts? Thanks

Not only does it allow to fix the 5th gear shift detent bushing, but all other gears, as well as reverse.

If you have the time to drop your transmission and do this, highly recommend it!

I did it to my current one, but it is at 215k miles now, so I am about to do it to another transmission I pulled from a 5-series.

Definitely wakes up the feel of the transmission again.

A nice time to do any short shifter/DSSR/input seal while you have it out/down.

I spoke with the machine shop today and they're all set to go. Based off of our discussion, I should have 25 sets in hand to ship around the end of September (hopefully). That being said, I have had 8 orders "off site" that I'm accounting for, so I've got 5 sets left if anyone else wants any?
