Hi guys,
I'm a first time E30 owner and new to the forum world. I bought this 1988 325i convertable with it swaped already, but the cruise control was not working. The previous owner knew little about the car and couldn't give me any info on what it would be. Before I start to buy new parts to have it working, just wondering if there was somthing missed when the swap was made.
Thanks
Most likely something to do with the clutch or brake cruise interrupt switches. Check here for the diagrams: http://www.wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm

Make sure cruise control speed sense wire is connected behind the instrument cluster. I believe the color is blue/yellow of hand. You can verify this by checking ETM. Connectors to speedometer green plug.

Might also be the same issue that I had several years back when a shop fixed my slave cylinder for me - they connected the brake light up to the wrong connector - thus the cruise circuit thought that the brakes were always on and would not engage. There is a connector right above the pedals IIRC. Are your brake lights always on? I don't recall for sure if mine were or not.
Update:
Just found a clutch pedal switch and bracket at my local salvage yard, but can't find the connector under the dash. PO installed a remote starter/alarm and it pretty messy under there. Does anybody have an idea where I should be looking.
