    Question Rims Question...

ok, it's time to buy new rims, tires and suspension. here's what i have currently, 94 325ic black (auto)(bone stock)stop laughing! . here are some of the rims i'm looking at...which do you think would look best on a black car. for suspension, i'm thinking of either hr coilovers or the cup kit. also, if i get 19" rims would i need to get a new brake set-up (ie. brembo)? thanks for any and all advice!

i like the hamanns the best outta the selection you gave, the next best one is the racing dynamics one. if you are going with a lowering kit then i would watch out what size tires to get especially with 19 inch rims. alot of people experience rubbing with wider tires and lowered cars with 17,18 inch rims. As for the brakes you don't need to upgrade them when getting bigger rims. however if you ever did decide to get a brake upgrade a larger rim would allow you to fit 14 inch rotors in there with massive 4 or 6 piston calipers. Brembos would be nice, but also expensive for hte larger brakes.

Personally, I love the BBS wheels and not too many people have them. I've seen quite a few cars with the others. Post a pic when you get everything put on.

I like the top middle, top right, and bottom middle. The others are awesome too, but it seems quite a few people have the hamanns if that matters. I prefer a lip around the wheel, unlike the BBS CH. I'd probably get the HREs

If you can afford the HREs, go with them. Also, I have seen 19" wheels on a 3 series, and I think they look to big and unproportionate. I would recommend 18" wheels.

The HRE's are great. I have a friend who has a set on his M3. If you would like to take a look let me know. I am in the South Bay area as well.

Thanks, zman....I might be up for that. Do you know which model he has? I'm really thinking of the BBSs', they're half the price of the HREs'. But I would still be open to others opions on these! :

I'm looking for some 17" doublespokes from a E46.... I like to stick with BMW rims just for the sake of it... plus I'm hoping they will be a little cheaper than the really good aftermarket ones.

The HRE's he has are almost identical to the ones you have shown. Yes they are expensive, but look great. In fact I have his original M3 rims on my 325is. If you need to stop in to look, let me know. Good luck!

Get the Breyton Magic Racing. They look sweet. TYE on DTM Forums has them on his Black coupe and they rock.

I agree. There's a dealer here in Toronto (Budd's) who puts the 19" BBS on as an option but it just doesn't look right. Stick with 18's and HRE's.

HRE's all the way, and no 19" rims on a BMW. You start looking ridiculous, and besides you could spend that money on a supercharger!

careful throwing extra large rims on a 325...they may look fast, but a heavy rim with alot of unsprung rotating mass will slow your acceleration. I went with 17" bbs rk's on my 328i, and have been very pleased. pretty good footprint with 235's, and about the same weight as the stock 15's. my .02

    18" BBS CH...

would look great. I also have a 94 325 IC. I just installed 18"x8" BBS RX's w/ Kumho Ecsta 235/40's. I wanted the CH's but they were more than I could afford. 19's would be too big.
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep... not like the other screaming passengers in his car.

The BBS ch only come in 19" for the 325i.

Thanks everybody for the advice...I know the BBS are the lightest of the wheels shown next are the HREs'. The real story is the HREs' are twice the price...and I still need a suspension kit!
