It looks much better now.
Improves how the wheels visually interact with the front so it kind of enhances your wheel choice at the same time IMO

I'm interested to see how the new front combines with the side skirts, any chance of a better picture?
Sorry for going off thread topic a bit too much

You have a set of Throwing stars?
I would say they would look good in matte black on your car
Ok this looks allright!!!
Finally washed that beauty!!
Looking very nice there, hope you will be at Duxford this year so I can take a closer look.

OK so its time for more fun with the CSi. I decided to purchase a set of Schrick cams. I also sourced a set of M73 manfolds and downpipes. 45 euros for the lot from Lativia of all places. Looking at the manifolds they appear to be a better design than the M70/S70 cast manifold. I know all the naysayers will pipe up and start on about the poorly designed exhaust port but the manifold is an extension of that port and a restrictive iron lump is not going to help no matter what the exhaust port looks like.
Here is a page taken from the S70 technical manual with the Schrick details added in Red. It's not that much different but its enough to give some decent gains with a few other mods.
The M73 manifolds have the bolt spacing wrong on Cylinders #4, #5, #10 and #11 . I plan on cutting the flange then flipping it over to give the correct pattern. I'll post a picture shortly.

Very interesting. Let us know how it goes! Just put Schrick cams in mine, and boy they are fun

Not yet. I'm running a set of CSi chips. Yours maybe? Wokke supplied them. Considering applying equal-length headers to the mix first.

Some serious stuff going on. Cannt wait to hear the sound then Adrian
I'm sure my files are doing the rounds :-) is yours a 5.4 ? I
Doubt it will be far out but it really needs to be tuned on the road with proper exhaust monitoring.

I'd stick a set of modified M73 headers on there, less heat and better flow. Unless you can get hold of a set of Equal length headers that have been dyno tested then save your money.

I stopped into see my good friends Dan and Nathan at Lloyd specialist Developments today. They are going to modify my Headers for me. They have a really good attitude towards modifying, tell them it can't be done and they will find a way.

Just wondering as the steering box is on the other side. So it doesnt matter when it comes to the M73?
I remember the headers on the M70 and S70 that was a UK car was different so I had to use the ones from the M70

The down pipes will be custom anyway so its not important.

If you want sound remove your Cats and resonator :-) you'll get plenty of sound then !!
Its not about being loud, but the type of sound you get.

Nice....mine minus Cats and resonator .

Both sound nice. Wish adrian had a vid like you Omega
:-) enough of blowing our own trumpets .
As a related note, I have sent a set of M70 cams off to Dbilas to get reground for install into my CSi.
They are more aggressive again than Schrick cams.

Hi Alan, it will be good to see what kind of results you get. Do they give you the ramp rates ? There are so many variables to consider when deciding on a cam. I was going to have some made by Kent but decided on Schrick as I've heard some horror stories on all other cams in the m70 heads.
Update: The cams arrived so I started to pull the engine apart. After removing the exhaust manifold it became clear the M73 ones won't fit without a lot of work.....but....comparing the m70/s70 manifold to the m73 manifold there is very little if any difference in volume, if anything the entrance is smaller. I can see where the pproblem lies with the standard system. Where the manifold joins the down pipe there is a flange type fitting, rather than sleeve over the down pipe the fitting is pushed into the 1.75" OD down pipe restricting the flow. Internal diameter at that point is around 1.25". Using a rough guide of 2.2cfm flow per horsepower on the exhaust size this diamter gives 75hp for each manifold. That's perfect for an M70 but seriously restricting to the S70 up in the higher rpm range.
Once the cams are in, this engine will be up in the 400+ hp range . That works out at 100+ hp per manifold or 230CFM. With the already poor exhaust ports on this head there wants to be zero back pressure at the manifold. The size is a balance, keeping back pressure low but velocity high. So my plan is to cut the flanges off the standard down pipes and weld some 1.75" internal diameter flanges on.
I'll post some picture shortly.
