BMW 840 Temperature Needle not moving

I recently had the fan replaced in my 840 M60, now the temperature needle won’t go up. Any ideas?

Which fan was replaced - and do you get any heat from the A/C vents when demanded? Get any heat when the car is driven hard? Why did you get the fan replaced, did you have cooling system problems?

    Thanks for the reply Timm.

I had the viscous fan replaced as the car was overheating with the Euro Car Parts fan that I had fitted. The fan wasn’t working properly and was just spinning very slowly.

The car has been in the Bodyshop for a long time, I was getting it fully re-sprayed. It’s been parked for 1 year.

My guess is that you either don't have a thermostat fitted, or that it is stuck open, even if the fan was locked on you should still reach operating temperature (before it blew itself apart)!

I just bought a new Thermostat from Bmw and got the garage to fit it, but still not working.

Is the temperature feeler for coolant for the cluster connected? Wire or plug broken? http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E3...g_system_pipe/

I took the car for a long drive yesterday and it started working by itself. After a while it went dead again, it seems like an intermittent fault.
