This in not software, but system simulating hardware.

Yes, they are still available. It does not replace the pre-cat sensors, it manipulates their signal during a cold start.

I am interested in this for a 2000 BMW 540i. I have error codes P0491 and P0492 insufficient flow bank 1 and 2. Will this work for California emissions? Cannot pm you probably because im new today and this is my first post. I look forward to your response.

I can make one for your 540, pricing is the same as E36 models. You can't legally pass smog with one but it will eliminate those codes.

i'm sorry if i'm misunderstanding. Does that mean that hypothetically it would pass but it would be illegal? Or it wouldn't pass because it's illegal? Sorry i still can't send private messages. What i'm saying is, if my uncle bob stops by the house with his ca state certified emissions testing equipment and starts poking around on my bmw, is he going to be aware that something is up during the coarse of testing?

Hypothetically pass (as I'm sure many have), but not legally. The sim will make the SAP system appear fine as far as OBD2 is concerned.

I'm changing the design so that it gets power from the SAP vacuum solenoid. Who wants to try one with a $20 discount?

Tried to email to you and it failed for some reason. Does your SAP delete work for M44's?

Yes, M44 not a problem. I'd need some wire length measurements though.

Let me know what measurements you need - I'll see if I can provide reasonable estimates.

Check out the E36 M52/S52 manuals:

    standard: http://e36-electronic.com/Documents/...lationV1.2.pdf
    plug & play: http://e36-electronic.com/Documents/...ionPNPV1.1.pdf

You would need to take a look at the mounting location and length to run wire to the pre-cat O2 sensor. If you want to go with the new style power connection to the SAP vacuum solenoid (recommended) I'd need that wire length as well.

I'm assuming the location of the electronics near the power terminal is for convenience and cleanliness right? The pump on this car is on the opposite side of the engine, and the O2 connectors are closer to the exhaust than the 6 cylinders, so thinking it would be easier to mount the electronics near the airbox (left headlight), and to run both the O2 sensor wires to their current location, which would require 3-4 feet of lead wire (estimate). Might be easier for me to just take the standard package and spice in the lengths I need unless you think that splicing would introduce an issue?

Yes, sounds like alternate mounting on the 4cyl car makes sense. Splicing isn't a problem. I'd prefer to make the wires extra long so you would have a single splice. I could also leave the wires un-terminated and could could crimp the pins yourself and insert into the connectors.

Leaving the connectors un-terminated is a great option. Probably be good to provide 5 feet of wire to be safe since I'm not sure how to cleanly route the wiring yet. Given the SAP location, I'll probably wire it in the same loom as the O2 sensors which appear to lead into the connectors for the camshaft position sensor, under the intake manifold and throttle body. If you want I can measure the final wire lengths in case you need to make them in the future and take a few install pics.
