Well since the s14 is almost done, its time to start on the stereo, i placed my orders ladt night, and this is what i bought, what do you guys think? the system starts with this:
dam.....going all out in w/ the sound system eh? lol
what kind of head unit is that?
and this to help it all run. What do you duys think? yeah i gotta conection with arc audio, but honestly there stuff is the best, If you liked zapco, youll love arc, since they are designed by the same engineer, Robert Zeff (the Z in Zapco). As soon as the s14 is finished its going to the installer, think im gonna do some fiberglassin. i figure some weight over the back tires should be a good thinkg, with my new engine, so why not make it good weight!

The head unit is an alpine 7998, ive wanted one of these since they came out last year, and now i finally have one,its sweet!
Very good! nice selection!
any plans for boxes yet?
i was wondering, what is that last item you posted?
capacitor
Yup, a cap (for short). It helps even out the power flow. Ya know when the bass hits and your dash lights (and sometimes headlights) dim out a little? This prevents that. Makes things more stable, ensuring you don't ruin your audio stuff and fry the electrical system of the car. Good investment, esp on older cars.

I should get one of those, I only have one sub, powered by a 1000 watt Lanzar mono amp, and a 4 channel for my other 4 speakers and my dash and stereo lights dim everytime it pounds....but ARC is expensive,
e30 325i, the mighty 4 door granma mobile....Gone
e39 528i, 4 door sports tank
I should get one of those too. Every time the subs hit in my car at night you can see the H/U dim a bit. Nothing else will, but the H/U's display dims out a bit. I was thinking it was part of the silly display thing that it does while it's playing music, to dim with the beat while it throws little bar patters over the screen.

Broken A/C, but proving to be damn reliable. Sound : 2 Boston Acustic Speakers, 8'' Punch Sub, 350 watt Kenwood amp, Pioneer CD player. Best 3 speaker system I've ever heard.
One thing at a time, the m42 comes next.
i dont really think u need that KEQ5 because that alipine has a builtin crossover with upto a 24db slope a parmetic eq time alignment... and if u just wanted fro the extra input u can buy a i believe its a kac114 alpine extra input adaptor..... nice choice on the other stuff... im upgrading my radio to a 7999
328i ACS type-II body kit w/ 3 peice wing and roof spoiler,ACS sway bars, H&R springs and TypeIII 19"2peice wheels, ACS exhaust, umintza cromium. 2-tone interior,

hey schnitzed
yeah i know the alpine can work as a processor, but not as well as the arc, also the main reason i am using the arc eq is ease of adjustment, i like to adjust my system depending on what type of music i am listening to, and the arc makes for much easier adjustments while driving, i hate flipping through screens on the deck on the fly, not very safe either
