If you don't have the wallet key then just remove the FOB from the key portion and try that. (This was the first time I had used the unlock trunk button.)
You don't push up with the key in!

    Insert Key
    Turn Key
    Remove Key
    Press in on button

hook a charger up to the + post under the hood and the - post on the shock tower. Pray it is unlocked.
    Otherwise, you're kind of screwed.
Sounds like someone already tried to jimmy the lock, but you will need a key anyway.
If this car legally belongs to you, show the BMW dealership that documentation and get a new key.

Its my shell, don t worry. It s a bare shell, no relais in it. Can t i drill out the cylinder and than push the button? Or do i need to to something from the Inside of the trunk?

    thx! Trunk is open!!

    What did I do:
    1. loosen the 3 screws from the latch with a socket wrench and 3 long extensions (took me a while)
    2. Use a tool like this and tie wrapped it on a long stick. Pressed next the shaft and alibaba cave was open. Latch is loose and fell in the trunk.

Not sure step 1 is needed, to do the thrick.

I had this exact same situation last year. I used a jump to start the car. Once the car was started and running, the trunk lid opened fine by depressing the usual switch for opening.
