Instead of showing just the patterns I decided to make a boot set from all the vintage cloths I picked up last month. This is the first, a blue and black checkerboard plaid. I think they came out awesome!

I'd need the whole armrest lid but yes I could recover it.

I haven't decided on what material yet, still shopping around. I figured posting it in your thread would help with grabbing the attention other e36er's if you decide to start making these as regularly as the e30 stuff. I'll pm you the info once I have it. Thanks again,

Ok. I can get almost any material if you have something in mind.

I stock black leather, alcantara, and microsuede, and have a small selection of OE cloth as well.

I'm really leaning towards alcantara but I really want the tri colored m stitching like on m steering wheels. Is that possible?

Yep! This is how my version looks on an alcantara shift boot.



I don't think it would wear well on the armrest but I'd be happy to do it on a boot set for you.

Hate to be so picky as that looks awesome but is there any way you could zig zag the purple through every stitch insead of every other one so it would match this?

No. I have a single needle machine so a seam like that is 2 passes. There's no guarantee the stitches line up; it's pretty difficult doing it every other.

hello, can you make something for a e36 automatic, i dont know how it would look but perhaps retain some of the functions and make it look like this maybe i can just replace something or slide it in there, I wanted to retain the function of gear display, while giving it a boot like newer bmws, like the e46, e90 etc.

I don't think I can make a boot for that. If you wanted to switch to a different model shifter with a boot I can make one though. I can definitely do an e36 brake boot too.
