    M50/M52 into E46?

Hi Bimmer Forums, I'm slowly piecing together parts for an M52 turbo setup and have a few simple questions:

-Does the M50/M52 share the same engine mounting positions as the M52TU/M54?

-Are the E36 M50/M52 and E46 M52TU/M54 engine mounts interchangeable?

I'm trying to figure out how difficult it would be to get an M50/M52 into an E46. And also if I can use the TRM turbo engine mount in an M50/M52 swapped E46.

    Thanks,

    Carthik

i think he might be talking about the actual motor mount bracket from the block to the chassis mount, and i think there is only a couple people that know the answer to this question, one of them told me the e36 block and mounts hold the engine back a couple inches to much, and the hole in the subframe needs to be elongated.. i just finished making custom mounts and will be able to confirm in a few days when i get around to fitting the engine in the car

    E46 330 coupe m50b30
I’m in the same boat. Trying to figure out how to make my m50b30 turbo 5 speed fit into my e46 coupe. I used e36 engine brackets and it sets the trans brace about a half inch too far back from where it needs to be. E46 non m brackets won’t bolt to the block correctly, but 2 out of 4 on each side will. Still searching for info on this as well
