hey is there sunroof data available? I've got mine narrowed down pretty far. Would be nice to put a number on the sunroof aspect.
My M3 is 1 of 2
ee07999
Arctic Silver metallic (309)
TEILLEDER W.N./SCHWARZ (N5SW)
1 of 577 - second most common i think....
not 100% how to read interior - color is black (schwarz) - but I'm not sure what all the junk in front of it means. I have lux seats heated and such, folding rear seats, no spoiler
95 Acura NSX - The new track car
98 E36 M3 Sedan - Killed by elk - back on road
03.5 E46 M3 SOLD
Hellrot red on Modena leather. 1 of 13 pretty cool
Everything on my car including both subframes, brakes, diff, motor, backbox, cluster, complete interior and front bumper came out of EE10757. Basically, both cars were gutted and this one got the good stuff. Probably a few other little odds and ends that I'm forgetting.
I'm curious to know where the trans, harness, and DME came from, though. EE10757 was an automatic. An early '97 with a late '96 production date. I didn't realize so many autos were sent over here...

Same place as MMMGP. Looking over his numbers, I think he made a mistake. According to my data the total number of Luxury packaged cars is 772, not 765.
Anyway, here are stats for your car according to my data. Also, in your signature you mention "imported to USA", however this is not correct as these cars were also sold in Canada. First number is the total amount of US/Canadian spec M3s, number in brackets is US only cars.
M3/4/5 - 4574 (4452)
M3/4/5 in Apline White 3 - 585 (582)
M3/4/5 in Alpine White 3 + Black Nappa Leather (N5SW) - 258 (255)
M3/4/5 in Alpine White 3 + Black Nappa Leather (N5SW) without Luxury Package - 236 (234)
M3/4/5 in Alpine White 3 + Black Nappa Leather (N5SW) without Luxury Package, without spoiler - 217 (215)
M3/4/5 in Alpine White 3 + Black Nappa Leather (N5SW) without Luxury Package, without spoiler, without folding seats - 172 (172)
M3/4/5 in Alpine White 3 + Black Nappa Leather (N5SW) without Luxury Package, without spoiler, without folding seats, without sunroof - 2 (2)
It looks like our data with MMMGP doesn't match, since he claims 114 Alpine White + Black Nappa - Luxury Package - spoiler - folding seats, but my data shows 172 cars. Guess we need to compare notes.
Well he and I have the same data so I am not sure what the discrepancy is. Thanks for the info though. My spreadsheets don't have a sunroof column.
About the imported, this was the fifth NA market sedan to be exported from Germany to the USA according to the same data. I fail to understand how Canada plays a role here.

Looks like you guys got a mistake somewhere. MMMGP sent me his list of Luxury packaged cars and it had errors in it. There was one VIN that doesn't have Luxury package and 8 VINs missing from the list.
Not all cars were exported to USA. CD93 models were exported to USA and Canada. Canadian cars have option L838A in their build sheet.
Out of 4574 built for the US/Canadian market 122 cars were sold in Canada and 4452 were sold in USA.
Notice it says 5th Alpine/Schwartz, not 5th overall. If I sort the data and check the build sheet on each VIN none of the first 4 Alpine/Schwarz M3/4/5's went to Canada. However I need to throw the other qualifiers back into the mix to be sure.
Also notice the sequencing of the VIN numbers and the build date. If you sort the VIN numbers sequentially the EE05062 and my EE05063 should have been grouped with the other cars built on 9-17. EE05061 was built on 9-9-96 and EE05064 was built on 9-9-96 as well.

There are also a few other out of sequence cars built during the September month in 1996. I started poking and it looks like many if not all of the out of sequence VIN cars have that S902A Press Vehicle Inspection. However if you take EE05034 for instance and look it up at bmwvin.com it has text in the individual area.
I assume all 902 cars got the same treatment, figure the data entry person might have simply overlooked typing it into the official record, or BMW masked the data on some and let a few slip through. Nice to know it got the "performance certified" engine treatment. Not that it matters now at 130k miles but it's interesting history of the car. These "902" cars seem to be even more exclusive than the "Individual" cars.

If you are just going by color and upholstery then it's not the 5th car. If you going by color/upholstery, non-spoiler, non-lux, non-folding, then yeah, it is 5th.
If you include non-folding seats, it take Canada out of the mix, since folding seats are standard on Canadian cars.
Yes, I'm aware that some VINs are out of production date sequence. It's not just for press cars, sometimes regular production cars get delayed too.
Press cars appear to have better performing engines, which is what M3 LTW used to get. On some early cars BMW even cheated. There is a press E34 M5 with less sound deadening, thinner windows and top of the range engine.
