oh man
well i already did because this oil recommended by local bmw parts shop
so far so good with this oil because there was a sound like GRRRRRRR and when this sound come up the RPM start to rise and go down " not stable" which means there is a problem with the torque converter.
but the sound now disappeared after this oil.
now do i have to change to 1200 immediately or i will lose my transmission ?

drain and refill again with the 1200
Yeah, you might loose it. Change the filter too. And do it asap for a fighting chance. Look into Dr. Tranny as well. My dad put it in his and all problems went away.

You should put links to dipstick mods. Peops would find it easier to do when the rebuild their tranny's.

Im still going to get more information on the torco automatic transmission fluid. It seems to be a top shelf recommended fluid 100% synthetic with hi or low viscosity. If anything we would just be using the lo-vi, as the hi-vi is for racing.
How many fluid options do you want? We should be using the ZF fluid if anything.

I dont know. whatever we find just keep updating its one of the most source full sections on this website.
What you can do is install a modified quick oil drain plug on the drain side of the pan. And when it comes time to do a trans oil change, just drain the oil from the quick oil port, then attach a hose to the quick oil drain plug (with slight modification) open the fill plug (to use as a measuring guide) and pump in your atf though the quick drain plug, and when your done filling you can shut it. I think this method far safer vs stick in your hands between the exhaust manifold & trans, having (hot) ATF leaking all over your hands and the exhaust. Though you have to be really careful about going big bumps or lowering your car with that plug in because one hit and your trans will be bleeding out its atf.
As far as dip stick goes i think its a waste of money and a hassle for the 5hp24 as the trans have better fill and drain positions vs the old 5hp30.

I've stumbled on a ton of 5hp24 threads on the X5 xoutpost forums they seem to rebuild their tranny quite often, great discussion and lots of pictures of the transmission being disassembled, though being a X5 they're almost identical.
Very extensive Discussion about pressure Testing on freshly rebuild transmission, and lot of various pics on the clutch packs and transmission inert.

Anyone know if that Valvoline Maxlife DEX/MERC ATF is still good to use? I can pick it up locally, $100 for 10 liters and from what I can see, Valvoline's website still claims it's good for 5HP18 tranny's like mine. Could be just what I've been after - it's hard to find compatible fluids locally in Australia.
Cheers
It is. I have the spec sheet.

Does anyone have info on programming the 6hp26 to function in an E38, 750il?
