    Wheel Adapters vs. Wheel Spacers

I've seen some nice E36 17's around and was wondering if purchasing wheel adapters would be a problem. On Ebay they go for $100 for 4, and I would'nt have to worry about stressing longer studs as with wheel spacers. Any ideas? Is this good? Any problems?

What kind of car are you thinking about putting them on?

89 BMW 525i. Correct me if I am wrong but an E34 ET is 15 and a E36 ET is 38, so I would need an adapter 18mm 5x120/5x120? Thanks for the response Jim.
