Awww come on. Dream a little!

I've been swapping around from the CD43 and a JVC KD-R810. I love the looks of the CD43 but get tired of the sh!ty sound! That's when the JVC gets some dash time. Love that it has a BT link and I stream Pandora from my phone... you know, I'll be swapping the JVC back in tomorrow.

try Alpine 7998 phantom face. this is one of the most sought after and perhaps one of the best made models by alpine.

i have it on mine. it has amber lighting. simply awesome!!

I installed an aux input in my stock radio using the tape players audio in pins, i just press the tape button with any tape in it and it becomes an aux input. the wire comes out of the hole in the little storage bin under the a/c. If a few people are interested I could potentially do a few peoples radios for less than the cost of a new radio. The only downside is the amp in the stock radio which isn't the best.

I just put in an Alpine CDA 9885.

It's pretty good I guess, way better than OEM

Yes. The top button does it all, it half lowers the windows as it drops the top, and on the way up it will do the same if the windows are up. There is also an "all windows" button that will lower or raise all windows with a single click. I am surprised the sedans did not have a similar feature but I am sure there is a way to wire it up (have seen it before on a couple cars).

Hmmm, this is worth looking into. I hate having to roll down all 4 windows on a warm day. Does the vert support the one-touch down for the rear windows? One last question, does the vert have the windows & top down via drivers door cylinder held in unlock position?

Yes, all 4 window buttons have the one touch function.

No, none of the E36's did that, only the lock position works and will roll up windows/put up top and windows. The third button on my Stellar keyless system also puts up the top. Pretty handy I can tell you.

Ok, looks like I'm going to need to order the "all windows" switch. From what I'm reading, the GM4 needs to be programmed via NCSexpert to enable the convertible functions along with rear window one touch capability.

Soo many projects... sooo little time!

I installed a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X996. It's got adjustable backlighting that comes pretty close to OEM and has a plethora of features. I paired it with some infinity reference components and a 10" sub. Sounds great!

I had a CD43, and though it was nice to have something that looked stock it was a pain pairing bluetooth just to listen to my ipod.

That brings up the option of using a bluetooth adapter to connect to the CD43 or any other stock radio. Parrot and Motorola both make excellent units. If you don't mind the setup process it's actually not that bad. The Motorola T505 allowed me to use bluetooth audio, and make and recieve phone calls. It also had the footprint of a garage door opener. Pretty handy.

Look up grom. I have a cd43 with a grom adaptor for both bluetooth and aux and it's awesome. Looks OEM, the sound quality is a huge improvement over stock, and it works with your phone. The aux jack lets you listen to anything as well.

That's actually one of the nicest head units I've seen, unfortunately, it's not available in the USA.

    Source Wiki

"In the United States FM radio stationsbroadcast at frequencies of 87.8–108 MHz"

    Clarion specification

Frequency bands FM: (MHz) 0.05MHz steps 87.5 to 108

I also listen FM bands so i dont see any problem here

I had only minor problem when i installed HU. Since its shallow mounting cage is also shallow. So when i was driving it was making some squeaky noise. After that i took some sponge and put it between mounting cage and car dash. After that cage cant move and its perfect silence.
