Does anyone know the pro's and con's of each... I'm going to be changing the struts/shocks this weekend and don't know which one I should go with.
Thanks
I presume u mean KONI's....
Konig makes cheap wheels... hehe...
Both are great shocks, I have Bilstein Sports on my car and i must admit I love them... but either way you cant go wrong. good luck
oh and rock on!

I have read that Bilsteins hold up longer than Koni's. This could be completely false but someone must have experienced at one time or another to write such a thing.

i have blisteins as well they are solid shocks.
I have the bilsteins too, my brother has the konis on his Jetta and they suck in my opinion....that and 2 out of 4 of them were defective from the factory.
Hey man, I'm a professional!
I have bilstein sports but honestly feel that they're just WAY too stiff in my opinion combined with 18" wheels and H&R sports. From what i've HEARD from other guys on the DTM board...if you want a better ride quality...the Koni's are supposed to do ya right. Khoalty has a 325is with H&R sports and Bilstein HD's (not sports) and his ride quality is SO much better than mine....dunno if its the fact that I have 18's and he has 17's or the sports vs. the HD's....anyone?
it's all in the your taste:
again, I run BMP H&R Race springs, bilstein sports and 40 series rubber on 18" rims through Newark 5 days a week.
for the winter, I'm now running 17" rims with 40 series rubber too.

Well.... got the Bilstein sports put in.... rides too good... sucks though cause I have my winter tires on and can't truely test it out.
good call with your purchase. I have yet to put on my snow tires, I dread the ride. then again I did buy another set of wheels (17") so I wouldn't have to worry too much about ride quality.
Hey man, I'm a professional!
I went with 15" steel wheel snow tire package after I bought my car.... going from 16" (original) to 17" (upgrade) to 15" (winter) makes me wish that I had 17's all year round.Originally posted by themadhatter

I hear ya, you can also do what I did.
I took my stock 15" rims for snow tires till I couldn't stand them anymore - I may sell, I may not.
I have my 18" rims that I've refinished (look at the signature pic) with wet/dry tires for the summer/non-snow season. These are my showy rims that were done up very nicely I must say.
I recently purchased a set of Millie Miglia Glides 17" for the winter this year so I don't lose too much in terms of handling. I may get summer tires for these rims too, but I doubt I'll have the car for another winter anyways.
Enjoy the ride!

I recently asked my mechanic who only deals with tuning BMW's and he said that Koni Coilovers were the best.
