    +1^^

I appreciate the offer on the help! Will definitely let you know.

Race Spec Alignment does wonders to the handling of the car. My previous E36 S/C M3 had TC Kline Coilovers with Vorshlag Camber plates, H&R Sways, Strut Bar, and X-Brace. It was the best handling car I have ever driven. It weighed 2950.

    Keep the updates coming!

Have you installed the front bar yet? If not, do you have the means to accurately weigh it? I suspect it's around 8 lbs but would like a confirmation (bar alone without mounts if possible).

    Thanks

Not yet, I will weigh both and post the results.

+1. The bang-for-the-buck on the x-brace is too good to pass up, especially given how awesome the rest of this car is.

Please let me know if you start producing those door panels/trunk block-off.

I won't need an x-brace, because I will have a full cage at some point. I will probably start making the panels and selling them around december.

X brace connects the front subframe to the chassis. Your full cage does not address this, I suggest you look into the brace. Regards, Nate

As of now, I do not plan on getting an x brace. I pretty much have everything I need for now. I have a list of upgrades that I will be doing in order; after that is complete, I will reevaluate what the car needs.

I am not knocking your build and how you are going about it. I would be more open to the x-brace and what the benefits are. Do some research on it in this forum. My friend who ran in JP uses and x-brace and I am sure many other club racers use it as well. For what you are building the car for I would have it on my to-do list. Why not start a thread in the track section and poll people about the brace?

Just for reference, I just had to take my xbrace off to put a slight dent in it because my SS headers would hit it on tight turns. The difference from it on and off were very noticeable and that was just driving around on the road to see if the clunk went away.

    Quick update:

When I get the car back, I will be applying a few decals, removing the heater core, removing the glove box frame, stripping the dash, installing the hotchkis front sway bar and end links, and mounting the fire extinguisher.

Did you weld plates for supports under the roll bar?

No, I haven't had the car for the past 3 1/2 weeks, so there hasn't really been time to do that. Now that I have decided to go with a full cage at some point, I don't think im going to weld in any plates. I might have some larger base plates made though.

If you go full cage and sell that, let me know then!
