I am not 100% sure on offerings with that specific backing plate, DTC-60's would likely work better, just trying to prepare you because I have seen multiple DE cars that require more than the HT10's can provide, if you are at the pointy end of your DE counterparts, you will probably be looking for new pads soon. Consider pad changes, street and track in lieu of a "compromise pad." Good Luck, Nate.

I could be wrong, but I think the implication of the original post was why you hadn't adapted ITBs?

I actually have the stoptech front's that came with the kit, so I could just run those on the street. Maybe you are correct about swapping, I'm going to look into that tonight. Thanks!

If that is what he wanted to know, the answer is because that would be very difficult and costly. I feel that I have all the power that I need for now.

Found some time to do a little work on the car last night and got the fronts done. I still need to do the rear pads next weekend. Very impressed with the quality of these brakes.

The bridge slides right out upon removal of two bolts. This will make it much easier to change out pads when the need arises, and because of that, I decided to put the stoptech street pads in. I will just throw in the HT-10's when I'm about to head to the track.

    Stock vs. Stoptech

    Passenger side complete.

    New stainless steel lines.

Stock drivers side rotor and caliper.

I had to grind the spindle down a bit on the drivers side, but not on the passenger side.

The pads just slide right in.

    Bleeding the brakes

    Finally done

I have the PowerSlot discs and ST pads on my E36, and I've been nothing but happy with them. I plan on doing this to mine in the future, and I'm glad it's not that difficult of a job. Looks great!

Great build. Enjoyed reading it so much that you got my first ever post!

You need to get a set of ITB's like we have over here in the UK on our E36 M3's :-)

Thanks! It would be pretty awesome to have ITB's, but it would probably be easier to just swap in a whole new engine than retrofit those. I could be wrong, but I don't think its an easy swap.

The brakes are finished. Really loving how easy the pads are to swap in and out of the stoptech caliper. I currently have the stoptech street pads in the front and HT-10s in the rear, but I will swap the front HT-10s in before I head to the track. While installing the rear pads, I noticed a hairline crack in the rotor, so I'm probably just going to upgrade the rear too.

Yeah, Im surprised at how much larger they are than stock. I can't wait to test them out on the track, I should be able to go much deeper into the braking zone.

    Hello awesome build thread.
I was wondering what size tubing and wall thickness was used on the roll bar.
    Thanks

Awesome build! Want to build an e36m3 for HPDE and such in the future. Your build will probably be the basis for mine if I ever do get one.

Went to the shop today to do a little work on the car. Had the ignition coils replaced, swapped out the expansion tank, and installed the Hardmotorsport coolant blockoff plate. I am now waiting on the bimmerworld strapless clutch, bimmerworld race shifter, bimmerworld solid engine/trans mounts, gold heat wrap to line the exhaust/transmission tunnel, and still trying to decide which brand gauges to get.

    At the shop

    Blockoff plate

    The guys helping me out

    New decals

Got the carbon fiber PTG wing, reflective heat wrap, and bimmerworld solid mounts in.
I also Bimmerworld strapless clutch on the way.
These will be the last parts I order for a while, as I'm going to try to put all the money going forward into track time (at least for the summer). The race shifter, heat wrap, and solid mounts will go in when I do the clutch.

Between this and instagram and facebook we have way too many conversations going on, but where did you get the wing from?

DTM fiberwerks. Wound up coming out on top through the last few trades. Just need to get back on the track now. Summer is only 2 weeks away, I can't wait.
