ticking noise at 3k rpm

i drive a manual 97 bmw 328is and it makes a weird noise.

i hear a ticking noise underneath the car (directly under the center console). it only happens while im in second gear and at 3k rpm.

suggestions as to what it could be?

not an expert but could be something loose and just happens to be moving enough at that speed to make a noise, if the car is RWD it might be something to do with the drive shaft (my suv used to make a humming noise at 60km/h caused by a bad bearing)

Yea it is rwd
