    Thanks Rob.
Somehow it's sad that all these parts will be hidden inside the engine and the engine will be under a bonnet.
I just hope I'll have a perfectly running engine in return once I'm all done.

    Hi Steffen,

have you supported the engine in the front somehow or is it just hanging on those four bolts? This is actually my only concern that the entire weight has to be held by "tiny" bolts.

    Cheers
    Wolf

It is hanging by the 4 bolts. I made a plate that attches to the rear of the engine, and then attached the plate to the engine stand. I used high strength bolts (9.8) and thick walled pipe as spacers. The engine stand is also rated at 750 pounds (which is more than enough. I had at one time hung a big block Oldsmobile engine (7.3 liter) off it with no problems either. Just make sure the bolts are tight.

I'm going to have my customized Style5s done like this next. These engine parts have been a test to be honest because the powder coater said he can do it but wasn't able to show me a sample. I admit, I'm totally convinced.
Took me several years to find this guy and it's a 100km one way trip but he's the one who does ALL my powder coating now. And he's worth every single drop of gasoline I use when I go there.

Yep, more or less. I decided to leave the engine bay matte black and a black engine like the current one kind of disappears to much IMO.

    Hi Wolf,
This is the second life of my rims?

For the appearance of the engine, good start, curious to see the final result.

    Hi Nicolas,

I sure hope your rims won't need any treatment like that in the near future
In regards to the engine I admit that I'm very curious myself. In my imagination it looks pretty damned good.

BTW, did you solve your brake bleeding issue?

    Cheers
    Wolf

Not yet, the BMW garage or I brought the car has not done better than I. He wanted to change the master cylinder and if it still does not continue until find the problem. Can you imagine the final invoice. I walked away with the car.
As already mentioned, I am in full change of residence so the car is waiting, I would resume the problem in my new house.

suggestion of my own experience, there are 4 bolts that do not match on the upper oil pan (rear end of the engine, (in case you leave the m70 oil pan do drill 2 extra holes at the flyhwheel side + drill 2 holes in the block also and create a m6 thread, this will save you a lot of oil leaking trouble, the one I am experiencing on my 550i

    Thanks for the hint.
But I definitely want to stick with the M73 oil pan and oil pump. I want to keep my M70 as complete as possible. Maybe some day I refurbish it as well and stick it back in with a SC added to it..........

Today I finished one of the two heads and while cleaning the main oil channel I found something quite interesting. Greetings from the production line.
