The suspension could go lower, but i drive the piss out of the car and the fenders are just ok at this hight
This is my new winter setup. When i have some time i will swap the 2.0 gearbox with a 2.5 one, because linked to the 3.45 lsd it's a bit long for my taste.
Makes me want to do that coil conversion. How is the ride with those on?
Jom now sells e34 coilovers I just ordered a kitOriginally Posted by jvschnitzer
Nice e34 man! looks like it came a long way.
I agree ground control make that kinda set up for that same price no inserts but depending on how low you go the stock inserts get blown outOriginally Posted by jvschnitzer
Really like what you have done to the old girl great work, will you not put on the covers for the throwing stars?
I have just ordered the Jom's for mine i hope it drops as well as yours.
Keep up the good
great build! i have a few questions on your coilovers. how much did you cut off the strut tube? i like how your car sits and would be going for a similar look and was wondering how much to cut off? also in the pictures of the car are the rear coilovers at there lowest setting? because the e39 rear struts are longer and and wondering if e39 rear coilovers would get the car low enough any help would be appreciated thanks
looking awesome, the coilovers are sweet!
Thanks guys. I don't have the covers for the throwing stars.
You have a pic to see how much i cut off the strut. In the back it's almost at the lowest setting (could go 1-1.5 cm lower). The ride is pretty good for the price you pay for these kits.
Do the e34 front upper strut mounts work? Or did you have to use e39? Just wondering in case I was to do this with camber plates
The e34 one works, also the e30 ones (i have e30 strut mounts).
Would this work on a e32??
are these the ones you used for your car ? im going to buy to do the same thing but i dont know if these are the ones! - http://www.ebay.de/itm/JOM-Gewindefa...item2a1fb854ed fast reply would be great maybe a pm? i could not send pm (dunno why)
Sorry to revive an old thread, but wondering if e39 coilovers for a sedan would fit on a e34 touring? Definitely going to have to modify but just want to make sure it can work...
Here in Colorado for my M5:
If you live in a county that requires emissions testing, it's $25 every 2 years for the test.
Registration is ~$100/year.
Sales tax is levied once at time of purchase, based off of purchase price, you can report whatever price you want as long as it's not terribly suspicious.
Insurance depends on whether you get full coverage or just the minimum liability coverage. For me, full coverage on the M5 is about $40/month, liability only is $20 (multi-car discount and renter's insurance discount ftw)

Lucky man! So now someone has two sick cars, and I just picked up a '95 touring so am looking into this method more... just a few q's, which e39 did you use the coilovers from? any e39 (sedan/touring)? and how low are you/did you cut 2.5"? did you weld them aswell? Sorry for so many questions mate, thanks!

Kinghorn,
I cut 2.5". Now i am not low, it's really kind of high, winter set-up. I used e39 sedan coilovers (touring ones are different on the rear).
