Changed my rear shock mounts today - here is some pics

Amazing how such a smal thing can make a change, I took the car for a ride after I was done, and the car definatly felt more...."solid on the road", pretty glad I installed new RSM's

Still have a sqeeking sound in the back thought...think it might be a worn shock.

First things first, jack the car up and take the rear wheel's off and make sure the car is SECURE, you are going to stick your head into the wheel well, you don't want the car to come crashing down on you.

Standard disclaimer applies, if you break soething or hurt yourself, it's your fault, not mine

4/14 - Side carpet off revealing a 2nd carpet, looks like a sound damping carpet to me.

8/14 - To remove shock completly the bolt at the bottom of the shock needs to be removed. Quite hard to get loose

is that an oriental rug that you do your car work over? heh

if there is a sqeaking sounds when i step out of the car, does that mean the rsm should be replaced, or is that somthing else?

IN the 9th pic it looks as if the car is resting with the suspension/rotors on the carpet.

What are you using for support?

    Mmm
I changed mine without taking the shock off. And also without taking off the bottom carpet or 2nd sound deadening.

As for teh squeeking when stepping out of your car - thats your ebrake most likely. Rear shock mounts make this jiggling rattling sound when the shocks are loaded (ie driving over bumps, taking corners, etc).
