i don't know... if a E31 will be collectable within a few years.... now, they all are driver cars.... for approx 30k AND running costs.
Perhaps for a very few one ? sure not me.... to look at it as a garage queen. It lacks the charisma of a real "sports" car … IMHO.

E31's are considered in a sports car category only by the uninformed. I don't argue with those that say it's not a sports car, of course it's not. These are GT cars and they are great at that. Another thing about the car is the way they look, I always get compliments on this car. These 2 things are what are pulling the car up in the market. It's also unique in it's styling and a bit rare. I still get the old phrase "Ya don't see these very often", I've recently had several people tell me they'd never seen one before.

The last thing is that they are being maintained by enthusiasts and as a result they are a driver's car. A well sorted E31 is a really good, reliable cruiser. I love it.

Nice find, but not very flattering photography of the Daytona Violet paint. It's got the same steering wheel type as I put in my car, which gives me a smile!

    According to 8coupe, only 28 CSi's were produced in Daytonaviolett-metallic (code 283).
Of these, two were EG92 (RHD), and just one was an EG93 (US) which changed hands recently.
The remaining 25 Daytona CSi's were EG91 (Euro LHD).

If he drops a couple grand off then maybe. Some paint and figure out the fuel issue, maybe the pumps.

I'm pretty sure I've met this guy -- at least, I'm betting there aren't two Calypso Red 850's in Ellicott City, MD. It was a couple of years ago, and the car certainly didn't look like this then. I'm also trying to figure out -- is the blue stuff painters masking tape, or is it actual paint?

I'm pretty sure the exterior blue is poorly applied paint, seems to be coming off on the driver's door sill plate. The interior seems to show some peeling on the passenger door panel so perhaps tape was a way to tie the 'custom' look together?

Looked like painter tape to me up close, but needs a total respray anyways so all the same. But yeah at first it looked customized to me too and bad.

Ha, wouldn't trust that to get there in one piece.

Do cali cars suffer with delamination, or is that just a wet and windy UK thing?
None at all on this glass, but bad karma, I am not refitting this one for the third time, starting a fresh. Hope it helps someone out, just want it gone before I end up smashing it, long story, but I think its jinxed for me.

I've actually never seen a delaminating rear screen... Or front screen for that matter. I know it happens on the E38 security glass, but that's my only knowledge on the matter.

In my case, I have some scratches on the rear window that bother me and I know won't fully come out with Cerium Oxide polishing.

^Interesting, most average cars here have rear issues, but fronts are normally ok. Its usually just a cosmetic problem, milky patches around the edges, so it looks bad against the blacked out border, the reason I bought this one back in 2009.

$3k running And driving 850! Half tempted to pick this up if the virus thing wasn’t happening. I could use a part or two as its same exterior color as mine. Anyone know where I can find a cupholder insert like that??
