Well, when I looked at your suggested site it said the mirrors were $680 each which, for two, certainly is not a lot more than the listed eBay deal. I just missed the other info you later posted about. But I was glad to give you the opportunity to show your superior research techniques.
I’m pretty sure that $680 price is for the pair, but for the non-memory mirrors. Also, all the prices include the glass, so there’s no need to add that in. I paid $998 for two mirrors with glass, and that included shipping and the surcharge for the credit card. I did also have to pay around $40 for the customs fee, but DHL hit me up for that when they arrived. I didn’t get mine painted because I was concerned about matching my car, which is red and has a tendency to fade more than some other colors over time. I wanted to make sure the folks who painted my mirrors could match the color.

I'd say that's up to each individual. I think all the US version cars came with memory mirrors, but I'm not sure. I have the memory sport mirrors on both of my cars, but frankly, I don't know why. I'm the only one who drives either of them, so it's not like the mirrors get moved around a lot and I have to worry about re-positioning them. I don't know if the memory function is necessary for the passenger mirror dipping when backing up -- that I do use, and find useful. But could I live without it? Dunno . . .

IIRC, memory mirrors have a 9 pin connector (and 10 wires) and non memory mirrors have 4 pin connector and only 4 wires and the connectors are not compatible.

Alpina 5.0 (i have seen the car......interior stitches are all green and the seats do not have the 2 color pattern/striping.... the striping is one color). For the rest a nice car.

Rough is right. These pictures made me feel bad for the car.

Your basically just buying for the 6-speed parts at this point, maybe a few others... very few others.
yes, a parts car for somebody who wants to do the manual conversion.... i was also tempted last to buy a parts car… but realized that in 99% the worn part you need is also worn in de donor car….. so no use. Ok, maybe if you have the storage place , for body parts in case of a accident...
If the interior was still nice…. but it's not .
I'm so glad I looked at the link -- it's one that is cosmetically worse than the one I'm sitting on! Mine straddles the line between parts car or restoration candidate. For a year or two it's been sitting in my storage barn waiting on me to figure out what I want to do with it...
With the mileage on this car, I'd be very concerned about the condition of synchros in the manual gearbox -- and without it running to test, you're taking a real flyer. I'd give about half the asking price for it as an "as-is / untested" parts car. With a known good engine and transmission, he'd get a lot more.
Cheers, John
