Crazy cool info!
Do you want to break the news to him or shall I? Lol I'm sure he doesn't care too much either way, but at least he could get his information correct on the eBay ad.
Bottom line, if I were fortunate enough to be able to buy the car, the pinstriping would be ripped off as it's coming off the trailer! Lol

A good parts car in OH. I spoke with the owner, very nice/knowledgeable guy.
There's something about an E31 in Oxfordgrun - understated yet regal, but still very muscular and striking from certain angles.
As mentioned elsewhere, this car is sporting my pet-hate....the reverse-flow throwing stars. It always amazes me how many owners do not know the correct configuration for these wheels.
That aside, a very nice example.....and the asking price makes my 20k-miler seem like a bargain at $135k.

Hahaha Mark, sadly I'm going to have to settle for the '95 840Ci that's in my garage right now.... But I do have a set of CSi mirrors laying around that I haven't put on my car yet, so I probably should just buy the eBay CSi #12! Anybody interested in buying a '95 840, '99 M3, '00 M Coupe, '01 X5, '02 525i, and '15 X1 as a group buy LOL? Even if I got top dollar for each, I still wouldn't be anywhere near the $120K mark.
BTW, your signature says you're about to get a 2005 Orient Blue 840Ci? <I think you have a typo!> So when's that one going to be a done deal?

That looks like Omegaman’s car.
Clearly I like Oxford green, although I'm not a fan of black interiors (but that's just my personal preference).
I actually visited Jon yesterday and looked at, and drove, his CSi. It is very, very nice; not perfect, but nothing short of fresh out of the factory ever is.
A couple of observations. The pinstripes are painted on. They are well done, but if you don't like them, I imagine its going to cost money (as in a repaint) to get them taken off. The front leather seats show some wear (more on the driver side), but really not that bad at all. There is the usual crack in the center dash vent unit, but otherwise the interior is in excellent shape. The phone has been removed and replaced with a very nice center armrest. There is an aftermarket radar detector that was probably dealer installed (mine has a similar one), and that accounts for the little green knob on the microphone panel. There are also three other little knob/lights on the blank to the right of the foglight switch. The pedals are also aftermarket (RD? not sure), but otherwise everything is stock. There are a couple of the usual wire connector caps missing under the hood, but otherwise all looks well. I had to laugh when Jon told me I could pop the hood, and then said everything was in good shape. Immediately the hood came back down (bad hood shocks) -- doh! But Jon popped into his garage and came out with a new set of hood shocks, so that minor issue was really more of an annoyance. There are also a couple of tools missing from the tool kit, but that's about it.
I didn't crawl under the car, but the steering and suspension feels very tight, with no shimmy, wobble or shake. I didn't drive it on the highway, but I have no doubt that it would handle just as well at higher speeds as it did during my short drive. The stock exhaust has been replaced with a Supersprint unit, so I presume its in good shape. The body is in really good shape, with no noticeable dings or dents, and hardly any minor scratches (which one would expect of any 20+ year old car). In fact, it looks better than mine, and people always tell me how good mine looks.
I thought long and hard about making an offer, but in the end decided not to for three reasons:
1) not really wild about black interiors;
2) have recently spent a LOT of money getting my 850Ci to where I want it, and while it's not the same thing as a CSi, it's pretty close in terms of driving enjoyment;
3) I am most likely going in a slightly different direction for my next car purchase.
I'm not getting anything for saying this, but whoever buys this car is going to be getting a very nice example, and will be one lucky owner in my opinion.

I don't understand these prices at all. There is nothing so special in e31 that justify those kind of prices. I can understand those numbers if we are talking about M1. But an eight, even csi, no no. Just an over engineered car from 90's that basically flopped.
Well to be fair they did say it was "negotiable." And when you compare this one to the silver one with 30k miles and a $279k ask, it's a relative bargain . . . Sarcasm intended.
There was a base model silver six speed with a couple thousand km. that hammered out at Silverstone at just under 90k Euro back in 2016. There was also a really low km. base model automatic, Calypso of all colours, on mobile.de last year that has since disappeared listed at 70k euro +. So $250k US for a minty CSI with low production numbers like the M1. Yeah I can buy into that.
I always said $250k was the magnet for CSI's, mint ones will blow through that, and mint base models will gravitate to $100k. And I am starting to think I under-estimated market by a third, if not more. We shall see.
Here's my take on it -- it's a collector's car, and I'm not a collector. I love my 8, but that specifically includes enjoying driving it. This car was meant to sit in Jay Leno's garage and ogled by someone who just likes to have nice things to look at. For someone like that, it may be worth the price, but it isn't to me. And, frankly, I've learned recently that the value of a CSi to me has dropped dramatically, because the enjoyment factor over my car simply isn't worth the cost. If I could find the right one, at the right price (and that probably means a euro version, in the exact color combination I want), I'd buy it, but for now, the "I've got to have a CSi" bug has kind of worn off. I've only got one or two things left to do to my car to make it perfect (for me), and the cost of those things is much less than the cost of purchasing any CSi would be.
Bottom line, I think I'm pretty happy where I am, and while this car is really nice eye candy, it's not for me at any price.
