This project car is up again. Diamond black/silver grey is definitely a nice color combo.
Would that have an m70 or M73
I know this car and the owner, even helped with doing a little bit of work on it. Not perfect but very good deal for the money.

Man I love that color
I am actually the owner of the 850i with the salvage tittle..so I thought long and hard about where and how to list my car to avoid getting humiliated for a very stupid mistake..let me give you the short story..I bought the car 4 years ago from a socal 8 member who had taken care of the car but it needed some issues sorted.I brought it home put it on jack stands and went through all hoses ( except for the high pressure power steering ) changed crank sensors ( one was crushed and that bank was not firing correctly) did the gm module and alot more that I cant remember now..anyway , the car had 17 inch antera’s ( chrome ) so with some research and alot of searching I found a staggered set of ACS type II ‘s again chrome..I had the chrome stripped and powder coated to silver..I put brand new nitto 315’s in the back and 245’s in the front and I was one happy man. However, the lug nuts I had were from the antera wheels and they protruded out too much so without much thought I ordered some from Ebay and well, they failed on the highway at about 60mph the very next day..the rear wheel came off and the car sat /dragged on the lower control arm .. the wheel and massive tire flew across the center divider and hit a 88 chevy dually ( no one got hurt ) and totaled it.. when a claim was filed I decided I would too so I could atleast recoup for the wheels and tires..well , apparently insurance companies ( mine atleast ) automatically consider a car a total loss once there is undercarriage damage..You can call me from the CR add and I would be very happy to share the full story..I have since bought another 6 speed. It does have a full stage 3 Dinan ( springs, sway bars and chip) runs and drives..it would be a very affordable daily 6 speed e31 with alot of the kinks worked out..
Here's a roof rack for the 8er on eBay -- these are pretty cool, and fairly rare (I have one), and this one seems to be priced reasonably: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E31-8-S...9aqczI&vxp=mtr

Interesting 840 project, could be a deal depending on how bad the damage is.
I talked to the seller (Bimmer Buddy) about that car almost 2 years ago... Here is the Panjo ad: https://www.panjo.com/buy/1997-bmw-8...-of-263-227023
He and his father have been collecting Mercedes and 8 series for some time, including some CSi's too. He's a nice enough guy, but as much as he likes to lead on, only seems to know these cars superficially. He didn't even get his facts straight in the Panjo ad title, as his car is one of 363 not 263. Not to mention this new Craigslist ad also has the incorrect model year, as this is obviously a 1995MY car, not 1997. It's probably one of the very first M73 powered 850's to come to N. America.
I remember passing on the car when he told me there's a sizeable dent in the front hood from something they accidentally dropped on the car. That's back when his asking price was less than $20K... If you look at the Panjo history, his asking price has fluctuated like the stock market (and also followed an upward trend too!). Also, it appears this car (and the other 8'ers he has) are still being stored outside under marginal cover. Just FYI, as it's been 2 years since this car was first put up for sale.

Those cars are local to me and that guy is out of his mind. I was very interested in the green 850 he’s got with the M73 and birds eye maple wood. Until I went and saw it.
It’s got a nice dent and a bunch of paint work needed on the hood. It needs interior work. It’s been sitting for at least a year so it probably doesn’t even run, I know it’ll need batteries at a minimum. All 4 tires are dry rotted wrapped around knock off M Pars. Worst of all it’s a got a nasty dent/scrape down the passenger quarter panel where the paint has also come off and is probably rusting by now.
He doesn’t really know anything about them aside from the fact that they didn’t bring many M73 cars over here and went on to tell me all these facts about how many they made and how many in that color and blah blah blah.
He told me he wanted 24k for that car and I almost shit my pants. It could be a nice car but as it sits it’s rough. That one and all those other cars are sitting in a dirt lot behind a chain link fence, it almost looks like a pull a part junk yard the way he’s got em parked. All the pictures in that ad are from when it was in Colorado where he goes a lot to visit his dad and I believe he has a house there. It’s got clear coat failure and all the body damage going on that I mentioned now.
I told him I’d give him 14k on account of all the work it needs and the fact that it’s not really worth anything because it’s not a 6 speed or a CSi and he didn’t even respond, probably because he was pissed. It has like 77k miles on it which is about all it has going for it. My 95 840 with 150k is 3 times nicer for reference to how hard those 77k miles must have been on it. Real shame, it could be nice but it’s just sitting having rain water splash dirt ever higher up the side of it.
All this took place like 3 months ago by the way.

That car sounds like it really needs a rescue intervention... Never understood those hard-asses that won't let the car go to an enthusiast for a reasonable price; they'd rather watch the car rot away before their own eyes, all the while thinking the value is somehow increasing due to rarity.
BTW Killian, all M73 and M62 triptronic 8 series cars came with the Birdseye wood in North America.

I mean if someone happened to come over here, cut the fence and push her on out I wouldn’t know anything about it lol. But yeah it’s a shame if he ever came down I’d love to have it, really pretty green, my favorite color.
And I didn’t know that I thought it was like an option wood or something. I thought most came with the dark wood.
I found this 840ci auto today in someone's driveway. Hasn't been driven for some time from the looks of rotors. Wheels are 18" but I have not idea if they are oem or aftermarket. No one was home, thank goodness, or I might have tried to buy it!
