Here's an old thread about it. The carfax also said two owner and bought at auction in 08.

East Coast car, so I guess the mufflers had external corrosion from salted roads?
If so, what is the rest of the underside like?
Agree that this car should be marketed better, with a bunch of hi-res pictures.

The ad came up a day or so ago. I'm sure soon there will be ton of pictures and possibly even a video of it. takes a bit of time. it's a large dealership so it's legit.

hahahahahaha.. you guys are gonna love this.
just called them. the car is NOT for sale. it belongs to the owner of the dealership and apparently it got caught in a "dealer inventory" list and was sent by automation to autotrader and their own website. I'm guessing he has dealer plates on the car to avoid taxes n fees. hahahahaha. the price being 100.000 dollars is also a generic bullshit computer number he said. the car was in a car accident in 2004 as per carfax. the sales person apologized and said they will remove the ad. so we're back to where we were again on market value. lol with an accident on it's history, the car will def take a dip on the pricing. it was a frontal collision damage.
here's the car fax

I have seen this car up close at our Sunday Cars & Coffee on Fire Island , Long Island. It is a very used example of a CSi. Interior shows good deal of wear, engine compartment needs much attention and the paint is just average. Owner has two BMW dealerships here on Long Island and might be pricing just a bit high. $60-70 depending on paper trail.
I've seen a forum member's CSi that blows this one away.

With an accident history, frontal damage, and a couple of owners, $40-50 would be a generous offer. This is one of those cars that a personal inspection yields a far more accurate view than specs suggest.

Interesting backstory on this one. You'd think a dealer owner would keep things in a bit better repair. My first thought is always this: the market is set by what buyers pay, not what sellers ask. I won't be impressed with the first person to ask $250k for a CSi -- but I'll be happy for everyone when the first guy gets $250k for a CSi! I probably won't live long enough for that, but it remains the fact that all ships rise with the tide...
Cheers, John
This car used to belong to Laszlo and Ladislav (may his soul rest in peace) they took super good care of this car I remember. this is a very good car at a very good price

Actually I am not surprised at all about the condition of this car. I'd venture to guess the owner of these dealerships is very wealthy, so this CSi is just another car to him. The cars that are in the best shape generally belong to those guys of much more modest means. If all you make is $50K a year, dropping $25K on a car represents a lot of money . . . hence the desire to take care of it and protect your investment.
Regarding the first $100K CSi in the USA, that benchmark was already tested a few months back. Cosmo Motors in Hickory, NC was selling a black 1994 850CSi with 28K miles this past Fall, and if I recall correctly, they were asking $104K. It did not last very long, so I'm curious what they sold it for. Someone got a beautiful car, but I doubt they will enjoy it much at that price. Every mile they add will drive down its value. They featured the car in this YouTube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf7ulPp_o9c

Well , if I was rich enough to buy a 90k csi (I only say that because if I had 90k laying around , csi wouldn't even be in the top 20 cars I'll get) I doubt I'll care if price goes down with the more miles I drive it . They are possessions and are meant to be enjoyed . I can die tomorrow and at my funeral guys will be like "omg , did you know he had a csi" "no way! Did he enjoy it" "no, he only put 500 miles in 3 years but the value on it now.......wooohooooo" . Call me simple minded I guess , I see things for what they are

Yes, the new buyer also is trying to get rid of it. Here is my earlier post:
"Came across a car on ebay I personally know and worked on in the past, I have no bad feelings toward the seller but at the same time I felt the car is being horribly misrepresented in this ad and I do not want someone buying it site unseen and having a very disappointing entry to an 8 series ownership.
Facts:
It's a Hawaii car originally, rust is creeping up in many places, valve cover gaskets are so rusted they cannot not seal properly and smoke billows out after hard driving. It actually needs new VC, originals are so far rusted they can't be saved. From the looks of it some hack job attempted VC reseal ruining plug wires in the process by pulling them out by the cord, car is misfiring on at least 6 cylinders...badly.
Crank shaft position sensor (lower one) has melted wiring...
Car was throwing EML light, running on one bank, I installed my rebuild throttles and PCV vales, it solved that problem.
Car is not a complete goner but needs ALOT of work, not the (tune up as seller states) , I offered to fix, never heard from the owner again... It was kind of sad because the seller is also new to 8 series ownership but bought the car with no inspection of any kind...and when he realized what it's gonna take to bring it back into shape and maintain it decided to sell instead...At the time I saw it, it was a non runner. Don't think anything changed since then.
Here it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-8-Series...m=322295185035
