Thanks for putting in the link
I saw this the other day, checked the Ebay listing, Turner Enterprises Knoxville TN; I live in Knoxville and wondered who had a CSI, much less one to part out. I contacted the seller, asking to come take a look at it, then he told me his address... I really should have put it together based on what it was, seller name, and location, but it took me a while to realize that this was a long time friend/coworker/drinking buddy I haven't seen in a few years.
So the story is, sometime about 1998, a local doctor got a little frisky on a two lane road and chucked the car into a field and managed to find the only tree in the field. My friend bought the car and cut it up for scrap. He salvaged the trans, diff, heads, crank, rods and pistons. The body and interior was toast from a fire, and the engine block was broken.
I now own all of the parts and a spare M70 he had laying around.
The remainder of the car is long gone. I don't know if anyone cares/has a CSI registry, but he is going to see if he can find the VIN.

It is probably CD00147 salvaged in Knoxville, TN, March 1999. It was black with black & white interior.

Thanks for the feedback Dansar, what a shame. Did you get to drive it?

Nice looking 8 but price is alittle to high for a grey market car.
This is an interesting one (he'll give you a discount if you tell him what it is)...

Could the price be right? What should I ask the seller?

Fairly aggressive price.
Decisions, decisions; original 850CSi or a 840i mechanic's special with a 6sp swap? Are you sure it isn't an April Fools' Day joke? (Love the "The car will be for sale for 5 days, therefore you have a one time shot, because and it will not be re-listed. If this is the car you desire, act now" note in the end)
Owned by a gentleman named Matt.
He's at a lot of the UK car meets.
Its got even better looking alloy wheels now
