$3k running And driving 850! Half tempted to pick this up if the virus thing wasn’t happening. I could use a part or two as its same exterior color as mine. Anyone know where I can find a cupholder insert like that??

It's been on eBay for a few weeks now.... Their asking price is off the bat $hit crazy charts. It would probably take another $15K to get that car back to stock and that's even before any mechanical refreshening. But I'm certain there's some shmuck out there who loves the custom Autozone look who will buy it and drive it as it sits. I think I have a V12 trunk badge in my parts bin for that new owner-

Sure makes me appreciate what EAG does to preserve these cars. Sorry if I'm offending anyone, I'm just not a 'to each his own' kind of guy when it comes to low production collectibles like the 850CSi.

P.s. can anybody tell if those side mirrors are Euro Sport mirrors or E36 M3 mirrors? (probably came off the same car the rear wing came from!)

And BTW veerack, for a $95K asking price, it better have a lot lower miles than 75,000. Gosh I hate when two-bit dealers get their hands on cars like these. </rant off>

Those are Euro M-Tech side mirrors from E31, though you could trim the bases of E36 M3 mirrors and custom drill holes to fit those in for much cheaper.

The yellow CSI that sold on BAT less than a year ago is now being resold by EAG for $50k more. That’s not ‘preserving’ the brand. That’s looking for a sucker, but as they say there’s one born every minute.

I'd argue that it's the Florida dealer who's looking for a sucker. They've likely done nothing to the car other than taking 12 photos, writing a very crappy description on the car, and throwing it up on eBay for a price way over what they have into it. It's a truly pathetic advert for a car of that pedigree.

I will admit to you that in my early BMW collecting days, I used to bemoan the EAG sales strategy myself. I've wholeheartedly changed my tune. No, they're not 'preserving the BMW brand' per se; I don't think that's their intent and it would be silly if it was. What they are doing is properly preserving individual pieces of automotive art, and have made a great business out of doing so. If that helps solidify BMW's reputation as a classic coach maker, then great.

BTW, have you watched the most recent EAG video from a few days ago where they went over the Dakar yellow Euro CSi? They have rejuvenation roadmaps for each car they take in. They have expert mechanics working on them; the one mechanic interviewed has turned wrenches on two Euro spec CSi's in the same week - where else are you going to get that? EAG has spent time and money collecting not only great cars, but great mechanics.

Obviously, EAG always starts with exceptional examples, but they are able to take exceptional cars to a new level of perfect; fully documented and priced accordingly. I no longer see anything wrong with that strategy. It keeps special cars special, and funnels them to owners who deeply value that 'special-ness'. EAG has created their own brand of value-add which is fully deserving of their asking prices in my opinion. Heck- I think Eric Keller, through pure entrepreneurial spirit, has built himself into a dream job that I'm sure many of us would die for... Think about having a fully rotating (premier) BMW car collection that pays for itself, while preserving classics and finding them loving homes? No, it ain't animal rescue, or healthcare work, but it's gotta be way up there in the 'coolest 1st world job' category.

Just watch a handful of the new EAG videos Eric's been putting out lately on his channel. Then go back and read the embarrassing eBay ad on the Brilliantrot Florida CSi. Maybe I've drank too much of Eric's blue/purple/red cool-aide, but damn it tastes good.

FWIW the red one on eBay sold at Amelia island 2020 for 67k where I’m assuming this dealer bought it. Too many people and dealers trying to artificially inflate values, which is fine I understand trying to make money, but I repeat it’s the suckers that pay for it and bring everything up in price and out price the enthusiasts. No different from when Californians were moving to Texas in droves in 2013-2015 and were buying houses sight unseen for more than the asking price. Anyways, I got my CSi before the craziness so I don’t really care all that much.

Although I do regret not being able to convince my father to buy that M1 back in 1995 on the cheap...

I ended up getting these for free. Going to blast and refinish them myself. These look like they've been chrome'd at one point in their lives. Does anyone know the OEM color? Is it the standard BMW code 144 (wheel silver).

Copart is auctioning an 840, located in San Jose California. It's within my neighborhood, but I can't afford to bet what it is now ($4.5k atm) so I hope any of you might find this useful. Looks like a parts car at the very least.

That car sold for $8,200... it was in questionable condition to say the least. I wonder if it was bought for parts or to repair.
