    Oil Consumption

    I just picked up a 97 M3. (I'm the guy that asked for feed back on an M3 vs a540i 6spd. Glade to say I love the M3 much better) Anyway the question is does anyone know what the oil consumption specs are ? I've got a friend who tells me 1qt per 700 mi. is normal. What are you guys getting? What viscosity oil and brands are you useing?

    Mobil1 0W30. My '97 doesn't use that much. Maybe a quart every 1-2K.

    same here. my last car had a Nissan motor, and I would have been horrified with 1 qt per 2000 miles, so I still have a hard time thinking it's not much. but it is pretty normal.
