    Diagnostic program with realtime graph view. updated: 12th Sep 2016

    .. based on EDIABAS API with Qt GUI components. Project started as a sort of proof of concept with text-only output. Then I thought it would be nice to see something graphical too.

    To use TestO you will need to install Ediabas or just use the standalone version. Standalone version works without Ediabas.

    INPA shows multiple values in one screen but you can't for example see how's your lambda doing because refreshing that many values in one screen is slow. With this program when requesting only for one value at a time the situation is different as lambda voltage value is refreshed more frequently.

    You can download the zip from: http://phenoboy.kapsi.fi/testo. Unzip to any folder and just run testo.exe

    Standalone version is here: http://phenoboy.kapsi.fi/testo/testo...standalone.zip. Before running check EdiabasLib.config file and change your COM port.

    If MSVCP100.dll is missing you can get it by installing Visual Studio C++ redistributable package: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5555

    It supports many engines: M5x,M60,M62,N54,S54, etc.

    This program has also file logger that creates a CSV file from selected values.

    'Faster live data' is supported for:

    MS41,
    MS42,
    MS43,
    ME7.2
    MS S50
    MS S52
    MS S54
    DME 3.3.8 (M60) -95 ->
    DME 5.21 (M73)
    DME 5.28
    DME 5.24

    It reads '(serial)' at the end of the ecu name which has support for enhanced live data stream.

    Program can detect your correct ecu which is suggested.

    Detect your ecu from file menu: File->Detect ecu->detect. After successful operation the right ecu will be selected automatically from the list box.

    Datalog taken with TestO with E34 540i/6 and shown by Megalogviewer. Acceleration on 3rd gear.

    DDE's live data logging is also supported. For example dde5 dde4 and dde6 have basic sets to show live data with gauges support.

    I don't want to sound overdramatic, but unless you cure cancer next year, you might have just made yourself very famous for years to come as people have been wanting a data-output logger for years that would work with "obd1" type ECUs, plus it'll also record a lot of calculated data outputs.

    Thanks. Yes, testers will be needed. I'll try to come up with more usable GUI and then send a link to you. All that you can see in INPA or in tool32 can be shown in this program.

    Any hackers around ? It would be so nice to be able to read directly those .PRG files for getting all the names of the jobs but unfortunately they seem to be crypted somehow.

    What kind of features would you like to see in this program? Tell me what would be your typical use case ?

    If someone's willing to test and report back findings with new feature requests just drop me a PM. It's still quite "clumsy" and not yet ready for public use. For examplle you will have to manually enter your DME prg and job/jobresult information. you will need to know how to use tool32 program which comes with EDIABAS/INPA. Luckily they can be found quite easily if you're into this kind of stuff.

    Info:

    It's still in early stages and you will have to manually insert the 'jobs' you want to view into the text file called 'jobs.txt'

    You will need to know what is the correct .prg file for your DME. For my M60 engine it's M60_338D.prg. PRG files can be found in c:\ediabas\ecu.

    jobs.txt contains info about "jobs". With the Zip file comes a jobs.txt version for M60. Copy and modify to suite your needs. First row tells the actual prg file (without .prg extension).

    M60_338D,M60 DME 3.3

    After comma comes free text (which is not used atm). Actual info about jobs should be written in CAPS.

    STATUS_INT,STATUS_INT_WERT,REAL,Lambdaintegrator #1

    STATUS_INT = job name
    STATUS_INT = jobresult name
    REAL = type (not used at the moment)
    Lambdaintegrator #1 = free description that is shown in the UI

    Double-click to open another window. A realtime plotting should start. You can pause it by pressing some key.

    Hi,

    Never seen that before. It looks like it's using the same api than mine.

    Good to hear it's working. Thanks a lot for your help. Could you please post the contents of your jobs.txt in this thread or to my PM ?

    For now you can watch real-time data graph for jobs that you've entered in the file in their own window. That's basically it. Check the first post how I found a small vac leak with this program.

    I'm putting a quick video together, then I'll post.

    Edit: I posted the thread, but it has not shown up on the forum. Maybe the mods need to approve?

    Also interested in the logging system including adaption to the bikes

    Would be a fine addition to the tools and great if it was open source but would not wish to tread on your toes in any way, you have clearly put in considerable effort
