My gas gauge has been a little flakey since I got this car.
Last week it went dead – shows empty all the time.
Tried the fuse 31 and 41 trick, but they did not work.
Now, I’ve checked both fuel sending units with Multi-Meter.
Driver Side – shows 247 Ohms
Passenger Side – shows 332 Ohms
Bentley manual says readings should be: || Full = 250 ohms || Empty = 10 ohms ||
Based on that, I thought that fault must be in wiring or gauge itself.
But on advice of friend, bypassed sending unit by jumpering connector.
Jumper Driver Side – Gauge sees 332 ohms, shows ¾ tank
Jumper Passenger Side – Gauge sees 247 ohms, shows ½ tank.
So, wiring an gauge are OK
Now WTF do I do??
Too high resistance (total of 579 ohms instead of 520 ohms maximum)
makes the gauge read EMPTY??

Replace passenger side.
The expensive side (the one that's integral w/uel pump)
