Will these seats fit?

Im looking for replacements to my current original Z3 seats, I found someone selling their E90 Seats and wanted to know if they would fit. I dont care about the heated and all the other random adjustments but I want to know that its possible to A. Get in physically B. Wire up functionally. If you have any suggestions for other seats or can share a story about your seat history please share! Thank You!

Doubt it. Z3 seats are rather narrow.

I have some blue seats in a cardboard shipping box if you want to purchase them.

I've replaced my driver's seat and noticed that the space is rather narrow, I'd say only a small seat will fit, also consider the wiring of the airbag occupant sensor as well as the seat belt sensors, I'm sure the E90 seats use a different system and would not be compatible even if they physically fit.

out of curiousity why are you replacing your seats? if they're tatty you can always have them reupholstered in the fabric of your choice.

You can adjust the wiring to make the adjustment and heaters work... SRS may be a bit tougher though.

I think Brent is right, the physical fit my be your biggest challenge.

Honestly, the wiring them in would be the easy part. Just matching wiring diagrams and probably custom splicing a new wiring harness or custom making an adaptor.

The problem is the E90 is freaking massive and Z3s are tiny. I would be hugely surprised if even new 1 series seats fit in the Z3. I wouldnt even try, but thats just me.

My seats are beyond repair and a shop I went too would charge me 350 per seat to replace the leather. For 700 a pair, I find that I can save alot of money going with they seats and I think for 700 the stock Z3 seats aren't that supportive (or maybe my seats have just always been to crap since I bought it). The 3 series has pretty great seats when looking at style and performance. Do you guys have better suggestions? I asked the E90 guys for a measurement so hopefully they get back to me

Z3 M seats can be had in good nick for $500. I know there was a black/gray set that was listed at $500 that took a long time to sell. Z3s are unique in interior design, the only seat I think might possibly work in the Z3 from another car is E36 vaders.

I know a guy who tried to fit Vader seats into a Z3 and they wouldn't fit.

Not sure why, but if I had to guess, I would probably blame the top of the seat more than the bottom.

I bet you could cram almost any seat into the well, but the door probably wouldn't close.

Yeah thats something I was worried about too =/ Ive heard of some aftermarket seats rubbing on the top when it comes up or down.

are we pretty much limited to just z3 seats (excluding race seats)
