04 745li dynamic drive inactive issue

I'm rather new to the forum & need help. I was experiencing the infamous alternator bracket leak that seems to be common with this car. The oil leak has been repaired now I'm getting the dynamic drive inactive message, everything flashes on & off, then it goes into transmission fail safe & stalls.

Is it possible that something happened during the repair of the alternator seal?

Does anybody have any solutions? Of course the shop's not trying to take responsibility.

I had that same error and symptom and it was the alternator that was a year ago but it is funny that I know have a leak fron alternator bracket and the dealer wants 1200 to fix.

It has to be common with this car because I had the leak now I'm getting that message... I think this series need to be recalled its ridiculous

That's what I'm thinking... I'm just mad the shop didn't check the alternator when they fixed the leak.. Now I have to pay for more labor

There is no reason to check a component for operation when it was simply R&I and showed no signs of failure prior to repair. How long has it been since alternator bracket repair? Care to post where you took it considering you are local? You can shoot me a PM if you like.
