So getting out of the car and beating his roof wasn't your option?

I'm the same way now as well. I get pissed off and loud more than physically crazy anymore. I used to get more physical...well , I would try to get physical by making the other party get physical. Unfortunately I think my bark made people question my bite....my bark spewed insanity, and possibly exhibited that I have rabies.
Then there are days stupid needs a non deadly cure. Today, was one of those days.

I try to quickly forget about the situation and just pull back from the offender. Motorcycling really changed how I approached situations on the road. You tend to have a better grasp of how fragile your mortality is when you look down and see that cheese grater going by underneath you at 70+mph.

I guess I just got used to not reacting to somebody causing a stupid situation. You just never know how crazy that other person behind the wheel is these days (and what they're packing).

Call 911 and say you THOUGHT (be sure to say this....) you saw him wave a gun. Let the chips fall where they may. One of the advantages of being older. "I'm sorry if I was mistaken, officer. I was just trying to help".

In CA or NV, you risk the guy actually pulling a weapon out. Call the cops, its their job. Don't risk your health for a car, it can and will be replaced.

A guy got really pissed off at me for getting in front of him about 50feet to take an exit.. He then flew by me on the other lane flipping me off/blasting his horn and cut me off very closely, so i basically moved to the other lane and took the exit towards my school. Then he followed me to my school and i didnt notice until i parked the car and almost got out. He came to my window and punched my window as hard as he could. Thank god i have the double glass windows The parking lot was gravel so i peeled out and hit him with thousands of rocks and even his truck. Watched him dance like a little girl getting hit by rocks. I hate drivers like this, drive slow and then they react like idiots

It all depends on what I'm driving. Am I fully covered? Then, I may just actually hit you and spin you out of control and watch your car split in two as it broadsides a light post. Maybe.

This is not reckless driving related but ill share it anyways.

After exiting my complex and making a left turn, i made a stop in the middle lane that has yellow lines. Simply because there was a line of cars stoped preventing me from entering main lane. So i put my right turn signal ON and wait for some one to let me in once the light turns green. A driver next to me opens his window and starts yelling: "wtf do you want?".."damit..f**k...fine just get in front me already!!!"
Light turns green and he lets me in i wave and he honks while yelling more curse words.
He was having a bad morning.

Another time, i made same left turn but there was a big gap between cars for me to fit in to, but as soon as the driver saw me trying to fill in the gap, he moves forward and blocks me. What a d**k move.

Yell in my car. It's so suburban here that we don't really have the out in the streets dangerous road rage. The secondary (arguably tertiary) road my high school was on had 10 lanes.

I did have a guy that was being an ass hole when I was driving home from college. He passed me and was pulled over 3 times on the 4 hour/180 mile drive home. The then GF and I were driving and the guy apparently saw her turn to watch and laugh when we passed him the 3rd time, about 5mph in stop light flow. About 20 minutes later he comes zooming up behind us like an 80's horror movie. Lots of swoop and squat, cat and mouse, honking yelling and gesturing. Three upstanding young men in the car. I held my CCW permit against the glass and paced them while they read. The came to a dead stop in the middle of the road and I never saw them again.

Only time I got out of the car was in a 6mi dead backup in beach traffic. Guy was trying to merge from the shoulder back into our lane because a cop was eyeing him. Mom wasn't letting him over, so he continued to creep up until the cars were touching. He then rolled down his windows to scream some vulgar things about her. I didn't drag him out like I wanted to because he had 3 kids in the back. Great way to see your dad acting hahaha. So we had a little chat and he apologized and backed up.

This happend many years ago. I swear im not making this up.

Two cars driving in front of me side by side at 25mph, both drivers were old ladies. Both of them at the sime time get too close and knock off each others side view mirrors. As soon as the mirrors went flying, both drivers moved back in to their own lanes and cont to drive as if nothing happened.
I dont know if they eventualy stoped, i had to make a right turn after 100 yards. But i was laughing my ass off for a while.

There are times I'd love to just ram people who are being stupid but I'm stopped by two issues; the law and the damage to my baby lol. I try to never escalate things because as mentioned before, for all you know the other driver may be an unstable person with a gun. I content myself with yelling to the interior of my car, heh.

Reckless driving doesn't bother me though, I usually just roll my eyes at idiots zipping in and out of every open space cutting people off to try to muscle ahead only to end up one or two cars ahead of me (what a waste of gas and effort). What drives me bonkers are idiots who go slow in the fast lane. I was on the way home from work the other day and there was an SUV in the fast lane and a tractor trailer in the slow lane and the SUV was pacing the freaking truck. There wasn't quite enough space to pass in the slow lane so I spent a few miles of cussing until the SUV finally made its way past the truck.

Funny thing is, he finally got into the slow lane and I rocketed by.. then he got back into the fast lane even though the slow was empty. *facepalm*

I try and stay away from everyone on the road and make the assumption that they will not do what they should.

This +10000. It happens all the time over here, and half of them I think have it in their heads that its their job to keep people from breaking the law by speeding. The problem is, they don't seem to realize that the law in this state says the left lane is for passing, and they are therefore breaking the law themselves by not passing while in that lane. I was, in fact, on an email thread where a guy was ticketed for just such an offence, and looking for sympathy. Everyone on the thread basically said "good, its about time someone got a ticket for that".

But hand guns are almost illegal in California..... so no one will pull a gun on you....

You work hard, discover that success is not a destination but rather a road you travel upon- mostly up hill. Then, after a while, people going down the other road look up at you, and they call you "lucky."

This wasn't me but there was a minivan with a family in it that suppositevely cut off a car which had a mom and her four kids who were visiting from puerto rico. Well long story short they chase the minivan down and eventually run the minivan off the road/ throw something at it. So the dad gets out and three of the kids probably around 20 got out of the car with a bat and started beating the dad from the minivan. Apparently also the mom from the car punched a 13 yr old girl that was in the minivan in the face. Meanwhile this is on a circle off ramp and I come around the corner just as the three kids threw the dad into the street in front of my car. Luckily I slammed on the breaks and drove around him. The people in the car drive away and side swipe him and the van a little on the way out. So everyone that stopped to help tell him to wait a second that the state police were on their way. He jumps in his van and just takes off. So yea road rage isn't worth it.

Flashed to pass a guy tonight, and he actually got out of his car to ask why I flashed. I answered for him to move over, matter-of-factly. He tells me to f-off. I hate ignorant drivers.

Have to learn to not flash-to-pass, and just wait, I guess.
