Drove the car roughly 60 miles... feels great, other than missing the wastegate dump... cough cough Chris cough cough... is all ready to go.
I also got the smog check done, after 15 months Bee is smog legal AGAIN.
Next, gotta do another 240 miles, do coolant flush and oil change.
I was on my way back home today 6th gear around 2900rpm went WOT and pulled 7PSI instantly... cant wait to do some test pulls and datalogs.

While wait for the wastegate pipe, I removed the wastegate to find out why was leaking at idle, seems like the fire ring did. OT seat well, put it back together and leak went away.

For those running cams, I got Shrick 256/264, what's your vacuum at idle, I'm getting 13, highest is 14 after warm up.

The increase in overlap is causing your decrease in vacuum. Now, if you were to adjust your cam timing by degreeing your cams to reduce the overlap you will increase your idle vacuum and you will get faster spool and transient response. I see about 16-17 "Hg with the same cams.

    PS I told you so

14 seems low, since I also installed cams I wanted to make sure if it was normal or not.
I'm going to do a boost leak test, other than low vacuum car runs like a champ.

It would be nice to have cam timing blocks that had the degrees difference compensated for in them. Then we could ship them around the country so the guys that don't want to learn could set their timing up differently.

My vacuum might be higher than 16-17, I haven't driven my car since November.

Hmmm... OK, hopefully it shows up when I do the vacuum leak and is a simple fix. I'm going to see what my log shows, I learned a while back my true bossy was reading 2psi lower, maybe is doing the same with vacuum.

I designed some cam timing blocks but I couldn't get any feedback from anybody to got some pictures or measurements as to if they would fit in an E36 or not so I lost interest.

I have this one for my car that people can use but it only fits in an E30 or with the motor out of the car. The cowl on an e36 is in the way.

Tested with 2 gauges abs both read roughly the same.
I did a boost leak and all seems right... next I'm going to check timing.

Parts are starting to show up... I better nail this welding sh!t as the cost so far is far higher than getting fit done by a reputable shop.

Next time, I'd recommend just buying straights and U's or UJ's. It will save you a bunch of cash.

^^Yeah you can get any angle you want out of a 90 or 180. A lot cheaper buying 90s or 180s and cutting out what you need. You could have gotten those two 90s and two 45s out of two 180s and still had another 90 or two 45s left over.
