Matt, did you mean cutring HG? With 30k on my MLS, I'm pressurizing/passing too much coolant to drive the car. Ordered my cutring from John yesterday .

I remember when you are posting about having oil floating to the top of your expansion tank.

good memory my friend. I was 2nd guessing myself because it was only a light film, and some said that Water Wetter sometimes looks like that. My car passed a compression, leakdown, HC/coolant test, and was not overheating but still was massively pressurizing the cooling system, gradually over the past 10k mi to where it cannot be driven without daily coolant fillups.

After my conversation with John at CES, if I were doing it the 1st time, I'd use the cutring gasket even if it's overkill for <500hp. It's $400 over an MLS, but I don't want to be doing an HG swap every 2-3yrs...or in Matt's case, every 2mo

Im getting minor coolant pressurization, but i fear that it may grow just like your has. If the problem persists i too will be going with the CES cutring gasket.

I dont get why so few people use these things.

If the price for the hg and spacer was more along the lines of $400, many more people would bite.

and if there were more persons here in the states proving them very reliable
for daily and severe pauer handling, more would bite.

Maybe a long read and visit to the Swedish/European BMW forums where many user's reviews about the PPF "Cooperring" gasket sets have been holding member's HEADS down solid and sealed for long periods and under high pressures would sway more members to swing towards the PPF (CES) cutting ring gaskets too.

Yay! Let us all know how it goes. It looks/sounds incredibly promising. Ill be a guinea pig for the gasket/spacer combo as well when my headgasket inevitably fails.

Hmmm... this is the part that I hate the most!

Any thought into AR Design? Not that they have a kit ready to box up and ship out, but one of the cars they have is running the "AR Design stage 1 turbo kit."

They are very much supporting this platform and have done some really impressive things along the way including their twin scroll manifold and table top torque starting 4500 rpms and ending with 600+whp @ 18psi with only a head gasket and ARP studs and is operating/testing at higher elevation and 91 octane w/ S362 Batmowheel.

Edit: after looking up, CES made 664whp @ 26.5 psi with GTX35R .82ar, 50/50 meth and 100 octane on a built engine.

No, I am not taking EVERYTHING or nearly anything into a comparible consideration, just an observation by the less knowledgeable.

I don't think their website is up to par with their products/performance/results, but their numbers and accomplishments are worth a look/call.

They are doing things with these engines/turbo systems we havent seen the likes of...worth a call!

After reviewing their product (no kit available yet) I have decided to stick with either TRM, TT, CES or a used kit,
I have poken to John at CES, great guy, I have purchased the cut ring head gasket from him. I have also spoken to TRM 2 days ago, waiting to hear back from Mike as he has to give me a quote... then im going to be able to decide what to do.
I have also left a v-mail for maximum PSI and havent heard back from them...
C'mon sponsors, get back to me so i can give you my hard earned $$!
