Hello all so a quick explanation, ive had my turbo set up for about 4-5 months now, and still love it, but im not sure if im pushing it or if i can get more. We made 343whp and 326 wtq at 17psi on a mustang dyno.
Set up
M50tub25
Arp 2000s
Cometic mls .120
Cxracing top mount manifold
tial 38mm wastegate
Hx35 with 16cm exhaust housing and 10blade turbine
all 2.5 inch intercooler pipe
hks bov
tre 255 fuel pump
tre 42lb injectors
running with megasquirt.
basically we are tuning conservatively and im not sure if i should push the engine a bit more or settle for what i have. i would love some opinions but no criticism on the budget build
Settle for what you have.
I think in precision terms, the hx35 is like a 5458 with a 16cm (.82 AR) .
I'm really no expert on HX turbo lineup. But I know the e30 guys like them.

Itll be pretty tapped at 450whp
328i Sedan Twin s366's, 6.0LS, TH400, MS3 Ultimate
9.20 at 150 on 22psi
Maybe step the turbo up to a 5858 precision, a Garrett 5857GTW or a 6262.
The 6262 would make much more power, but response would suffer.
With a 3" DP and maybe switch to a 3" cold side pipe from 2.5".
You should be able to get 400+ at 17-18psi with a 62mm turbo.
All depends on how much more $$ you want to spend. We can spend your $$ all the way to 700+hp

i forgot to add in that i have a full 3inch exhaust and i was looking into a precision 6262, im already looking at getting some 80lb injectors and my turner said i would probably be safe running 20psi with the setup
