Thanks. I should have been more clear with my post, I'm deciding the most ideal place to mount the pins. I like your location. I have also seen some people use the existing hood pin lock location in the radiator support to mount the pins. Did you reinstall the plastic shrouding over the radiator support after mounting the hood pins? I'll probably drill holes in the plastic to make clearance for the pins.
I did not use the stock latch location because I still had them installed at the time. Honestly, any location within that raised center of the hood is fine. I did not reinstall the plastic shroud due to the location of the pins and I didn't think it was worth my time to make it fit.

Thanks! The Bimmerworld-supplied MCS suspension has been incredible!
Very nice! You took Oaktree REALLY hot! That damn corner always kills me.

About a month overdue but here's a recap from the 2015 NASA Eastern States Championships at VIR
We arrived Wednesday night so we had some extra time and didn't have to rush. Practice sessions for TT were on Friday followed by competition sessions Saturday/Sunday. I had a dyno session scheduled Thursday morning which thankfully we gave plenty of time for because they were running 2+ hours behind. The car put down the numbers it should so we were good to go.
Friday's practice was frustrating. I had spent a lot of time driving a Spec Miata lately so it took a solid 2 sessions to get used to driving the M3 again and get back in the groove. Unfortunately, the paddock turned into a lake late in the day so I called it quits not wanting to risk any damage to the car with competition starting the next day.
The first session Saturday morning was my first time ever driving a set of sticker tires or R7s period and it started out well until water started spraying out of the hood vent and onto my windshield. I got the car back in before temps spiked and noticed the expansion tank cap was crossthreaded. Upon removing the cap, it broke into pieces:
A quick trip to the local NAPA store fixed that issue. Note to self: bring spare expansion tank and cap from now on. Lesson learned.
The rest of Saturday went very well and I had a new personal best of 2:13.760 (previously was 2:15.0) and I was sitting 4th in class. Sunday morning we had absolutely perfect conditions and I was able to throw down a 2:12.044 and secure 2nd place. Here's video from that lap:
Overall it was an incredible weekend. Congrats to Marc and Josh for placing 1st and 3rd respectively! We have had some great competition all year and this event was no different. A huge shoutout goes to my dad for being my pit crew and support all weekend and to Delta V Motorsports for all their support and hard work throughout the season. Considering the car isn't fully built out in TTD yet, I have high hopes for next year at Watkins Glen.

Dad and I ended the 2015 season on a high note this past weekend at the NASA MA Fall Finale. Saturday was a wet and slow start but I was able to put down a 1:25.8 earlier in the afternoon. I made a mistake and put all 4 tires off track during the last timed session which killed my chances of besting that time. Luckily that time was just barely good enough for 1st place in TTD.
Sunday was much better and I was able to turn a new personal best of 1:24.927 which again was good enough to secure 1st place in TTD. Dad had similar success and ended Sunday with a new personal best of 1:29.6.
The icing on the cake to the weekend (and season) was that I was able to secure the NASA Mid Atlantic TTD regional championship! I owe a huge thanks to my dad and Delta V Motorsports for their support all season long. We have some plans to improve the cars perfomance over the winter and see if I can get closer to some of the TTD track records next season.
I also had fun in the last TT session on Sunday chasing some cars that should be much faster
We've already started gather parts for winter projects. The main items for this winter are:
-new diff
-fire suppression system
-headers/M50 intake/tune
-coolant overflow tank
eBay headers
Canton overflow tank to replace the stock plastic tank on the side of the radiator
