I've removed radiators 4 times from the e38 and in no instance did I have to disconnect anything but the radiator hoses to get the radiator out. No other fluid or AC lines had to be disconnected.

although I haven't done it on the E38 I did pull the radiator on the E39 which is tighter without removing those lines. As others have said, it can be done. It is a PITA you just have to wiggle, tilt, push, and pull numerous times. It might seem impossible and then all of the sudden you will accidentally position it perfectly and it'll be out of there.

i dont know what any of you all are smoking when you say it comes out...those lines are blocking it. on the other side, i have no room to wiggle because of the AC line.

i just disconnected the Trans lines, plugged them up, and it came out within seconds.

i got to see my brown tranny fluid in the process...servicing will be in order at this point.

It's a mass hallucination, those who claim to have done it all experienced that same hallucination at different times over many years. I suspect alien intervention because the radiators got pulled out and new ones put in.

Go over Iceman's DIY again carefully, it comes out, I promise, I did it while crippled and you are young and strong. I have faith in you. :-)

its already out...i pulled the lines off, plugged them.... it took 2 minutes, as compared to hours fighting with it. no reason to fight it.

    Breaking the fan clutch bolt

I learned just how right you are while trying to break the fan clutch bolt; used "blaster" and the screwdriver trick, but it was solidly on.
