Which E30 to choose? Year and Model besides an M3.

Which car should I be looking for? I'm looking for a car to tear up the backroads with, and eventually going to the track. Which year is the best year and what model should I be looking at? Thanks for your advice! Also what price range and mileage should I look at? Along with what pieces need to be replaced?

My personal preference is the 89-91 cars because the bumpers look 100x better. Look for a 325i or 325is.

I bought mine for $4000 with 158,000 miles but mine was in pretty good condition. I actually had to talk the guy down from $4300....

Yes 89+ and stick with the "i" if you can get an "is" I would suggest it. It has lots of goodies that the others dont , Maplight,sportseats,LSD,sport steering wheel, front and rear spoilers.
