I think to access certain areas of 8er.org you have to have the paid membership, but I may be mistaken.

Most of 8er.org is open, but certain areas, like the Alpina forum requires a paid membership. I am actually on the 8er.org board of directors and am one of two US representatives. There is no pressure for anyone to pay for a membership. I did because it allows me access to all areas.

I do not have the number here - Just go to REALOEM and search the e82 1 series. Look for the rear trunk and it will have the number listed. That is what I used.

    4/7/2014 Update
    ----------------
I was finally to do some more work yesterday. I have received the rear suspension pieces back with the new bearings. I got everything painted and detailed. On the rear springs I found ALPINA stamped into the springs. I also spent some time under the rear of the car cleaning getting everything ready to put back together and back on. On the rear springs, I noted the correct paint markings, and reduplicated them on the refinished springs. Here are some pictures:

    4/21/2014 UPDATE
    ------------------
I was able to get the rear subframe and axle under the car on Saturday.....after being out for over 6 months! Note the SS Brake lines. I purchased these several years ago from MWrench...and have just been waiting to put them on.

Here are some details and pictures:

    Everything put back together

    Driver's Side:

    Passenger Side:

New bump stops for the rear shocks:

Rear Shock with EDC and ready to install:

On the dolly ready to lift:

In place after 6 months!!! YEAH!!!! Bolts need tightening and torquing down, but all is up now!

Yes...I know...I need to clean the coating off the gas tank...it will be done!

    .....more to come......

    Roger,
You reused the wire clips that are attached to the upper wishbones???
should have said something, I have brand new replacements of those "NLA" clips - I used them on my rear suspension rebuild.
    Car looks amazing!!
You aren't going to tint the taillights, are you?? Hope not!

I knew that the clips were NLA, and was able to get them off. If you look closely, some of the first pictures do not have them on, and the pictures on the bottom have them.

Regarding the tinted tail lights....Ha ha - that's funny. I know where that came from

Absolutely stunning Roger! This thread is the reason I bought my B12 and I hope to replicate your work on my car in the near future. Thank you for taking the time to detail each step. Truly inspirational!
