Mixed Pentosin CHF 7.1 with 11, now possible steering pump leak

So i have messed up and mixed Pentosin CHF 7.1 with an Audi/VW branded CHF 11. I was running low and couldn't source Pentosin, so i spoke to local VW garage who said there product was CHF 7.1 but it was infact chf 11. Arghhhh...

Now i am noticing a leak from the power steering pump, it is a 735il so it has LAD, and ive noticed the suspension is not rising properly and the steering is a little heavy.

I was going to adjust the height of the suspension, but i suspect this is the issue.

Am i getting the leak because i have mixed CHF 7.1 and CHF 11 or is it because the seals on my pump have gone?

Does anyone know how i can drain all of the hydraulic fluid out of the car and start again with Pentosin chf 7.1? ie how do i get the last bits out of the LAD system and the bombs etc.

Im fairly mechanically savvy but i don't want to start ripping all the suspension apart to drain it, so what evers easiest.

Any help would be much appreciated...

On a side note Audi seems to think its OK to mix CHF 7.1 with CHF 11, but when i shine a light in the hydraulic fluid reservoir it look pretty funky in there...

Yes, Audi and VW think mixing is o.k., but Pentosin says stricly not allowed to mix 7,1 and 11S, as apparently the additives of both products could cause clogging in worst case. But I have never heard of that happened, actually my buddy has mixed it in his 750 as he could not get the right stuff, nothing bad happened.
Easiest is if you use a turkey buster and suck the stuff out of the Pentsoin container, that is probably 40-50% of the total volume in the system. Total is approx. 1.8 liter.
Then add the right stuff and drive a bit a do same once more. This will dilute it.
Or you remove the servotronic module under the steering gear (where the 2 wire connector is), let the steering gear drain and that will remove in one run even more.

If you want to make it the complicated way, here is a drawing with drain points
    for a 750

Thanks for the info shogun, so my problem solely lies with a leaky pump.

In your experience, does a new seal kit normally fix this problem or is worth investing in new banjo bolts and even possibly new hoses?

Also do you know of a good supplier of these parts that would ship to Canada?

    Cheers!!

banjo bolts are often and problem when overtightened as well as the copper washers used with the banjo bolts.

usually the hydraulic lines are leaking
check the lines under the reservoir, they crack or get old. And the hydraulic lines to and from the power steering pump, leaks usually occur where the hydraulic hoses are crimped to the steel pipes, and/or the banjo bolts which hold the hose/pipes to the power steering gear are overtightened and crack internally and that causes leaks, or the copper washers for the banjo bolts are unusable.

Steering gear itself mostly leaks where the control unit is attached under the steering gear (in case of my 750 system), there are O-rings.
In most of the cases there is no need to remove the box. First clean everything and find the starting point of the leak, because changing steering gear is not such a pleasant work.
Leaking power steering hoses: you can ask a shop to replace the old rubber hydraulic hoses and recrimp them, cheaper than buying new ones. Have done that on all my hydraulic hoses in a hydraulic shop.

    Power steering pump itself:
    get a repair set
we have done several power steering pumps, and I posted also some repair instructions with pics, also a video from a repair of such a pump from a Porsche power steering pump.

They sell the sets for the ZF pumps like your 750 has

www.autohausaz.com has the hoses and ships even to Japan, so Canada is no problem

Just an update on power steering fluid for some E32 which use Pentosin CHF 7.1 or Pentosin CHF 11S. On my 11/88 originally there was the filling Pentosin CHF 7.1.
Since about 5 years I am using and mixed with the old 7.1 the equivalent from Febi, Power Steering Fluid Mineral, Febi Bilstein 06162,
Mineral oil-based, Size: 1 liter (1.06 quarts), white plastic bottle, Color: Green, Equivalent of the discontinued Pentosin CHF 7.1
Ideal for cold weather climates, Operating temperature range from -40ºF (-40ºC) to +275ºF (+135ºC), Works perfectly under extreme temperature changes

Works fine, no problem at all and much cheaper than the discontinued CHF 7.1

For those E32 which use(d) Pentosin CHF 11S, the equivalend from Febi is 06161 also called S6161 (S stands for synthetic), 1 liter bottle GREEN
Mini FEBI BILSTEIN Hydraulic System Fluid - CHF 11S Synthetic Oil (1 Liter), corresponds to BMW Part Number 83290429576, Manufacturer FEBI BILSTEIN ,Manufacturer Part# 06161
