Thanks guys, probably will throw it in a trash now.

Good thing for me there was no price difference - same as OEM HT market value. Wiesmann HT has the biggest rear window.

Could you gently set it in my trash? Bad vis or not, the carbon looks great.

    Stuff. I got stuff.

You chaps overseas must have far more opportunities to obtain such things than we here in the states. I looked high and low for a couple months for my HT and only managed to locate a handful of OEM examples. A Wiesmann (99.9999% of Americans are not familiar with that company) or a Hamann are like unicorns here--unobtanium or near to it.

Luckily, I like the silver-on-black of my combination (with silver painted OEM wheels there is a sort of harmony) and the rearward visibility is a notable improvement over the soft top.

I must say, no offense to RF, some of these 2-tone combinations strike me as stunning, though the red-on-black is a bit much, without some subtle red details to tie it together.
    Cheers,
    Brad

The carbon top is cool. It would be better if it lost the bumps. I wonder how much less it weighs?

I like the looks of the hard top, but if I were to get one then that would mean I would drive it in the winter. As far as I know my girl has never seen winter driving, and that's what makes her look so young. My body shop guy thought my 2001 was a 2012.
Found this in Florida for anyone within driving distance.

Hamann had a hardtop version without the humps. Not so cool. Not sure the original carbon fiber version was completely from carbon fiber, probably just lamination (judging by other hamann parts from that time).

This is slightly off topic, but I would love a lemans style hard top like the one for Cobras.

That's a lovely roadster. It's a shame some states insist that front license plates are needed.

I'd almost trade my SC Dakar Coupe for the evergreen roadster. Very nice. Perfect color for a FLA car.

    A different angle:

Sorry, I shared this on the Daily Pic thread also, but felt it belonged here.

Pain job...did it cost that much?

Actually, I quite like the 2-tone you had.

Love the paint job--nothing looks quite so wrong as a mismatched hard top on a Z3.

Paint job was $350. Two tone was ok, wife likes it too. Not my thing. Call it OCD.

I didn't mind the 2-tone but like the silver hardtop better. Called me biased since I have an Arctic Silver with matching hardtop.

If you live in New York, how do you not have a front license plate? I'm in New Jersey and have to have a front plate unless my car is 25 years old, or I run illegally. Jealous!

I am not in NYC. You will not see me taking this car to potholes central. I am far East in LI. Car is garage kept and even if I do go somewhere, it gets parked in a garage. But, chances are I will eventually either get a ticket or mount it. I have both, center and bumper mounts
