Best of both worlds...agreed!
Does owning multiple hardtops count?

I will admit that I have seen some pretty determined people wanting a hardtop over the years.
I was surprised to see that this fit into an Escalade

But this one takes the cake. I told the person that the Traverse is too small. She paid extra to have this done.

She made it about 500 miles before the wind picked it up and it flew off the car into a ditch. Surprisingly the glass survived and roof only sustained heavy scratches.

There was no way that last one would have ever made it. However, it would have made it no problem with the addition of one more strap keeping the rear from sliding out. Heck, if the rearward mounted strap there was moved over the "hump" of the top, so it was holding the rear in place, it'd have probably been fine...

I'm on the hunt for an Arctic Silver. Not for winter mind you but the summer. 6 weeks of hell and humidity most years here in Tallahassee.
I'm in the club as of a week ago today (just picked it up from being painted yesterday).
My oddest story was a hardtop I bought brand new for my Porsche. It was shipped across the country and I had to pick it up at the shipping terminal. The dealership was supposed to include the mounting kit (which I was going to install on the spot at the shipping port. Well, they didn't include it after all and the shipping place wouldn't let me leave it there to pic up another day. So, long story short..........The shipping clerks tied the hardtop around my entire car with ropes and I drove 40 minutes to the Porsche dealership in the shoulder with my flashers on. When I got to the dealership, the service advisor had to cut the ropes just so I could get outta the car!!!!!
Here's my new hardtop as of yesterday! I did the rain gutter delete, I can't stand the look of them. The body shop refurbished them and put new adhesive strips on them, should I ever want to re-install them.
Here are just a couple of my past E36s, all with hardtops!

No pics of you tied in your Porsche? Come on....
Stuff. I got stuff.
I wish that I had someone snap a pic of that. I'm sure it crossed my mind at the time but probably wanted no evidence of it! Now that it is a funny story rather then an anger inducing one, I wish I had a pic or two!
The problem with me and hardtops is that I always want them, get them and then never use them! Here's just a sampling of some of the Miatas I've owned. All with hardtops, all pretty much removed right after the pictures were taken and then never went back on the car. I hope I don't do the same with the Z, but if history means anything............
A couple of other cars owned with removable hardtops, while I'm sharing!
The coolest removable hardtop that I ever had was the optional 'panoramic hardtop' I had for my Silver Arrow SL. The ENTIRE roof was glass!! It was crazy unique!!

Weird. I went to the dealership and bought mine brand new, pre-painted my color (Winning Blue) and with mounting kit for $2,500.

All right, here's my helmeted roadster in the rain last night.
Speaking of hardtops.... there's a black 1.9 in very nice shape on BAT right now - last price I saw was only double the value of the hardtop! That means the car is only $2K!! We'll see how auction ends.

Don't think I've ever officially replied to the hardtop roll call
Lots of new hardtops! Please add pictures here. Thanks all.

I have a hard top!

I got a factory Hardtop Hellrot. Getting it painted black in a couple weeks or so.. getting pricing now. Yet to be installed... Hardware is going on the car tonight, along with first fitment. It's going going to be a loud and cold ride to work tomorrow morning.
Note: if any one has recommendations on a body shop/ paint shop in Long Island. Don't be shy!
Body Shop cause the last owner didn't take much care of the hardtop. Chip all along the back edges.
