Firstly, thanks for your input and for sharing your files with the community. The data you have supplied from within the ISTA-P disc packages does work partially within INPA - the *.prg and *.grp files can be used within INPA. Unfortunately, the *.ipo's are of no use since they are of the wrong variant, and are used to control the coding and flash-programming process, not the diagnostic process.
Kind Regards,
FAL
Hi David,
I just bought the cable and software from bmw cables. I'm stuck tho and wonder if you can help. It won't recognize INPA. It says that I don't have the compatible version for Windows 7 64 bit. I have the updated files on the 2nd disc but there is no instruction on when or how to install it. Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks
can someone link me to the best cable to purchase? Just got my e39, and there are so many options, I'm confused
where is the bmwcables site? or is that a eBay seller
Thanks

Gert aka Rv8flyboy makes one of the best. He has a thread here too.
BloodRed,
It is an ebay site but it's here in the UK. I'm wondering if I've made a mistake by purchasing from them now.
Does anyone have the files and instructions to load INPA and EDIABAS on Windows 7?

can I get those files pmd to me also, by chance?
Thanks
Be careful with the adapters. Not all of them will work. I have an older dell d630 with serial port. If you have vista or windows 7. That adds to the complexity of installing the software and getting it up and running. It can be done, just a lot more hurdles to jump over. I went with a older laptop and xp just to simplify things. There are several threads on serial adapters you may want to read first as well as people setting up software on different os.Originally Posted by BloodRedM5

yeah couldn't find a 610 local, so I got a e6400,
so I need the serial port card referenced a few posts back, as mine is xp, but only has the expansion slot.
I was lucky enough to have one laying around... I have a d600 as well with a true serial port... I wonder if i can up the ram to a gig and use it as another bmw diagnostic machine...
Thank you very much

Guys take a tip, spambots constantly troll the internet looking for valid email addresses so if you don't want to get spammed by hoaxes, porno sites and idiots trying to push everything from pharmaceuticals to online casinos, PM me your email address rather than posting it here. Ask me how I know....

I hear you out but my problems to read some car modules went away after I updated my IPO files with these. I am able to read all modules now from anything from 1998 to 2010 models. Have not had any newer models in my hands yet.
I am sure you are right, but obviously there is something more to it.
I do about 10 cars a week at the moment, so my INPA is used on a daily basis.
Cheers.

Hi I've been stalking these forums for a while and they've quite often been very helpful. Thanks to everyone keeping information up to date.
@David I'm trying a fresh install of INPA (based on various step-by-step list posted) and would appreciate the custom menu's your giving out.
My problem is that i cannot access PM's (due to no posts maybe?) and i'm not giving away my email to all those nasty trackers crawling around out here.
Can i reply to a PM from you or which hazings should a n00b go through to unlock PM?
Cheers
Try replying to the posts you read and in due time you will be able to PM...

Still working on that special inpa config ?
i would like the files but i can't send pm's
I have been using David MCs custom INPA since February 2012 and it works perfectly. I followed his instructions for the installing INPA and all the versions. What version Daten did I end up with?? I am going to buy an E60 wagon "E61" and want the latest dates. I downloaded daten V41 for E60 and the file is about 7.3 gb. I followed the instructions elsewhere to update datens and the files replaced are only about 30 MB. What do I do with the 7 gb of data for the E60??

Would be interested in the missing files neccessary for custom menu and all.
I followed the instructions and noticed how e53 is missing, but saw the screenshot where it was available.
Great work here, unbelievable
