So back to my Q for david
Could it be from the inpa 3 upgrade to 5? Did it overwrite the older files i needed for the quick tests for the e38? Im able to acess them all individually...Originally Posted by purplecty

Yes, it definitely works with ADS and I have used it with a Euro-spec E38.
You need to ensure that the revised files I sent you are installed as the last step in the update process, or some files will be overwritten. If this is not the case, re-install the files I sent you and try again.
If you just did a conventional update from v3.01 to v5.02, you would also have overwritten some critical files. This is the reason that you have to only copy and add the new files to your v3.01 installation rather than just updating, which just overwrites the entire folder content.
Ok i followed the instructions doing the update from 3 to 5 but i believe it just said to update. It may of been conventionally done. I gota recheck over things. Maybe start over again or can i just and retain/copy all the files from 3.01 instead of starting all over???

Doing it that way will only save about 10 minutes on a complete install and manual upgrade and at least by doing it the long way you are assured that you have the full content.
So how do i manually upgrade from 3 to 5? I followed the directions you had and i dont remember it stating a manual upgrade... IIRC it says to start from scratch, install 3 then install standard tools and upgrade to 5, which is what i did and must of been auto updated and overwrote the 3.01 files i needed... After installing 6.4.3 do i change my ediabas folder also? Then do the upgrade to 6.4.7 and change that folder as well and manually move the files from 6.4.3 to 6.4.7 and then do step 3 for inpa 2010 and manually move the files to 6.4.7?Originally Posted by David Mc
i believe you have to rename the original inpa 3.01 so its not overwritten by version 5,rename 3 back, then you add the files from 5 to 3.
from davidmc,
If you point an update to your existing INPA installation (i.e. c:\INPA) the update process will result in all existing files in that folder being replaced (i.e. old c:\INPA\CFGDAT folder will be overwritten with a new c:\INPA\CFGDAT folder etc). This results in the loss of earlier files which may not be contained in the update. Installing the update to the default location (c:\EC-APPS\INPA) creates a new updated INPA installation, allowing you to physically copy the content of the various folders and paste them into the corresponding folders in your existing c:\INPA installation, thereby expanding, rather than replacing the folder content.
