    David Mc's custom INPA Installation

Can anyone who is running my Customised INPA installation and who has not received updated CFGDAT and SGDAT files in the last 24hours please email me, as new files are available to further increase functionality.

Please note that if you have not installed a customised version of INPA which contains files from INPA versions 3.01, 5.02 and INPA 2010, these files will not provide additional performance to your standard or conventionally updated INPA installations.

I'm sorry, but where can I download this to try it out? So far I've been OK with the 5.02 but would like to try this out.
    Thanks.

There is no download, the process is entirely manual and involves following a procedure as described here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1778941 to ensure you have all the necessary files, then emailing me for a modified home screen and files to put it all together.

    Dear David

Not sure if I miss anything, but did you have a thread which talks about your customised INPA installation or you have even provided the whole customized file set for us?

or it is just your reply in my previous thread

    thanks!

    Bruce,

You have email containing revised CFGDAT files which will customise the INPA home page and set a few extra menus. However you will need to upgrade your actual INPA installation manually as previously described, which basically involves beginning with a standard INPA v3.01 installation and updating it to v5.02, then adding rather than overwriting .IPO files.

I have included files from INPA 2010, which are also contained in INPA EA-90x and are amongst the latest available.

Yes, it definitely works with ADS and I have used it with a Euro-spec E38.

Just got this done... Was a bit challenging since i tried to shortcut it. Overall you need to definitely start from scratch... Thanks david... Ill test it out over the weekend to make sure it works with my e38... Again, thanks david!!!

Do i need to update to the SP Daten v46 files as well? Also is there any advantage/use to installing ediabas 7.2 and having it saved somewhere on laptop as a "ediabat" or whatever folder you want to name it and switch to it as needed? Or is this customization giving me all thats needed from ediabas 7.2 but still the advantage of 6.4.3/6.4.7 still working with DIS and ADS interfaces?

I have only tested it with EDIABAS v6.4.7 as this is the last version compatible with DIS and v7.0 does not support ADS functionality. I have not updated any daten files seperately and so far the only issue I have found is with F01 cars.

What type of issues with F01s? Issues are with 6.4.7? Maybe use 7 for the f01 and then switch back to 6.4.7 after... Cant you just have both versions installed at the same time and just swap ediabas folders for your needs?

I have not attempted to connect to an F01, but one of the members using the installation said that he had been unable to connect to one, not sure what the issue was, but I am assuming that he was using the appropriate interface for a DCAN car.

Personally, if I was looking to connect to a post-2008 car, I think I would just bite the bullet and install ISTA.

So pretty much this setup will read anything pre 2008? Im intrigued at being able to read newer models but im yet to even have the opportunity haha... May never even need it, really...
