    Hello there EEDegreeToDrive

We had a cold year in Oregon and BOTH my 850s are doing the exact same thing , draining batteries and trunk noise of a switch and some switch / light / alarm problems .

anyways , I looked under your name , no way to drop you a PM , let me know how to pay you for two sets and get them sent to my home , thanks in advance

disconnect a battery cable and check if you can get in a door with the key. Once in, Pull the DWA fuse under the carpet on the passenger side well.

Disconnect a battery wont lose any settings or have to resync the dk mottors?
    What exactally will that do?

I can get in the car right now. Just if i do the alarm sounds.
Can i skip unplugging batter and just get to that fuse?
    Will that stop the alarm?

Since you have the trunk open, can you disconnect the batteries for a few minutes, then hook them back up? I'm thinking that might give the GM at least a temporary reset, during which you could unlock your doors with the remote. Once the doors are open, then you can cut power again.

I feel your pain. Last year, my car would not allow me to unlock the doors below a certain temperature. Also a GM problem.

Yes, been a very cold week. Id rather not unplug batteries because i dont wana reset anything, although that seems like my only option. Im parked on the street so if i get it started ill move it down infront of my garage.
Ill go out nd see what happens
Hmm well car was sitting in sun when i went out. Put key in and the doors unlocked haha. This car is really getting under my skin

I don't claim to be an expert, but it sounds like you are due for a GM rebuild. I've read many posts on faulty GMs that say the electrical gremlins go away once the car warms up.

I know that quite a while back, somebody was selling new capacitors on here. I would certainly be up for a set of those, if they come around again.

Nothing was wrong with my GM, but I went ahead and replaced all capacitors. Everything works like before so it's a good news.
Also replaced capacitor in a interior mirror just to prevent any troubles in the future.

Read somewhere here that that capacitor can reflect how responsive is your remote control feature. I was disassembling mirror anyway to extend antenna wire and replaced capacitor while I was in there.

Yes The GM is receiving standby power when your car is parked, so disconnecting the battery essentially turns it off, before you remove it. It's the safest thing, for the circuits.

I think you can drive it, but you're going to be without some systems. You'll be without central locking, etc.... I think windshield wipers as well.

    Try unlocking it from the Passenger Side as another option;
You should see the light on the center console go out when you've disabled the alarm.
Then send me your GM! (PM me for details)

It is recommended to disconnect the batteries. These modules will not get damaged from unplugging and inserting the connectors while powered but doing so may lead to ghost error messages that will have to be cleared by... disconnecting the batteries.

Yes, the car can be driven without the GM installed. However, you will not have wipers! So under no circumstances you should drive without GM if you may encounter rain!

Last month I had EEDegreeToDrive rebuild my GM. I disconnected both batteries before I removed it and didn't reconnect them until after the GM was reinstalled. I had no electrical issues whatsoever after the car came back to life. My recommendation is to check that everything is working properly before you put all the underside dash components back together. I know some folks who had electrical issues after their GM repairs found out the electrical plugs weren't properly seated in the GM.
